The story of young Miss Trails begins with a demon- a foul succubus that crawled from the pits of hell in black leather and high heels to seduce men, angels and gods. She fed on the souls of weak do-gooders and drank their sorrows, finding pleasure only in a strange bed or a lethal feast, all that usual demoness stuff.

The thing about succubi is that they have a lot of sex, and sex carries certain risks with it. And about nine months before April 4, 1993, the demonic dominatrix mumbled one wrong word in her protective spell...

Demons make awful mothers. She kept seducing and eating; her daughter spent a lot of time in fast food playpens, arcades, movie theaters, and all those other places put on Earth to watch some other person's kids, instead of in torture chambers and sex dens. Sure, the other kids made fun of the weird-looking girl, but being only half-human let her punch out any bully who bothered her in Mom's absence... and there are still a few missing-persons cases open last seen in a ball pit or matinee show.

Mom's still gone most of the time, but young Haunted Trails (Mom picked the name off the arcade sign, give her a break) doesn't mind. She's learned that life is pretty easy when you have neat demonic abilities in suburbia. And just like her mother, she loves to eat.

She loves to eat a little too much, in fact. She's not very intimidating for a demon, standing a little over five feet tall and without any bladed tails or whatnot, looking like the spoiled teen princess she is. You can throw out all the cute words you like, be it jelly roll, muffin top or love handles, but she's chunky and carries it proudly.

The girl's only really apparent demonic trait is that she has pink skin. Not a normal pink, Crayola-pink, and slightly reactive under black lights at that. Her irises don't count, as everyone just assumes they're deep brown instead of black. The wings and claws only come out when she's really irked.

For the most part she's human. Scruffy black hair she keeps tied in twisted dreadlocks, the kind of healthy ample curves a big diet would produce, half-lidded eyes. After staying on the surface so long she's basically gone native: no black leather or dragonbone in her wardrobe, just baggy khaki shorts and one of a selection of garish Hawaiians. (What about the underwear? Succubus magic.) The shorts usually hold a cell phone, fake ID, and a few rolls of quarters for the impulse game or three. She absolutely hates shoes, but arcades tend to let her in anyway given how much she spends.

Powers

She doesn't have that much demon magic, since she's only half-succubus and would rather play House of the Dead than screw someone to death. But she does have a few traits that come in handy.

-Tail. She has a tail that is usually hidden entirely away to look human. It's as thick as a tube of lipstick, incredibly stretchy, and opens at one end. She can telescope it out to almost any contortion and reach it dozens of feet; anything "eaten" by it blinks into her stomach once it reaches her butt.

-Wings. As mentioned above she has wings that she can use sometimes if so desired, but it usually means ripping up her shirt. She can carry her own weight through demon magic and only uses the wings for guidance, but even a few pounds more than her own weight (almost anything other than clothes) makes her crash.

-Arcade Sympathy. She just has a knack for games, and can pick up any arcade-ish game from pinball to slots to lightgun games in seconds. She's also learning to influence their inner workings; if she keeps going this way, she'll be able to sense what happens in arcades even when she isn't there.

-Demon Magic. This is a catch-all. Demons aren't like D&D classes, they can use their power for any improvised tasks or uses they can think of. Suspicious good luck, a sudden zap, or a one-time ability? Demon magic.

Really obsessed.

Some succubi can summon up gold, jewels, fine wine, anything to romance their lovers and satisfy their every premortem wish. She summons prizes. Not for herself, she likes to win those fair and square, but she loves to give them out. Call her cute? Fetch a snack for her? Rub her feet? Invite her to a buffet? Feed her your sibling? They all come with points.
