"You don't want to kill me, If I die the plague will come back. AND YOU DON'T WANT THAT DO YOU?
Backstory
Once upon a time there was a vast beautiful village built around a lake. When a plague showed up though everything changed. The village reached out every corner of the world for help, and to their surprise help they got; although it was primarily the help of plague doctors, using half baked remedies which were smoke and mirrors.

Eventually Selene showed up, when they had just about surrendered all hope; when they observed her miracle spells they wept tears of joys as with a wave of her wings she completely obliterated every remnant of the plague. The miracle left her completely exhausted though, noticing her body became withered and ancient looking like an old woman.

The spell would only last 17 years as her magic coursed through the earth land and sky; despite this the villagers were addicted to the beauty of their once again beautiful village, and begged her to tell them if there was anyway she could be back at full power when the spell wore off.

Stroking the bottom of her beak, she thought.
" Miracles draw power from faith, the bulk of the spell coming from my own life force; if you revered me as your savior, and gave me a virgin sacrifice shortly before I'm about to use the spell then I'll always be at top performance."

Thus began a new era, an era of servitude and submission; many resisted, even hiring assassins to try and kill her but she was too strong, able to obliterate anyone who defied her, demanding the village be offered to her by nightfall or she would leave them forever.
She had become WORSE than the plague doctors, actively extorting the villagers since they couldn't live without her miracles.

It was not until
Nyx_the_Vulture challenged her claiming she was no different from the phonies because of her actions, and after using Silent Selene one too many times became a being of pure magic energy and was imprisoned within Nyx's infimoire.

She was soon forgotten, only appearing thousands of years later when the combined virtue of the other Birds of Paradise members set her free, cementing her role in the team when she was able to subdue the primordial cockatrice Jericha.
Overall Facts
Silent Selene is the physical manifest of the spell of the same name; she can take the form of anything but she prefers to appear as her past self, a feral swan standing at seven feet tall. She also has an
anthro form, the only weakness of shapeshiftng is a tattoo of Cygnus will appear on her left breast.
She's rarely seen, usually choosing to manifest at public events, speaking on behalf of all the avians, even being the mascot of the Seraphian isle they represent.
Once locked away in a spell book, she was soon freed after feeling the virtue fill her with new life. To show her gratitude, she filled them with her holy light and revealed to them their true names related to the sudden power surge. So in a sense she's the one who gave the avians their enlightened modes.
As a part of the Birds of Paradise, she's the one who introduced Hospitals, giving a sanctuary for future mothers, rather than having to give birth within their vulnerables homes.
As an individual, for a small fee she can purify their baby while it's still in womb, ensuring a safe almost painless birth. She can even unbirth others, giving them a clean slate if an intervention fails to work.
powers
A being of pure holy energy, she's a living weapon; however because of this she's not allowed to go picking fights, only able to attack beings completely corrupted by sin. Becuase of this she can only make others get their hands dirty on her behalf; filling her valiant knight with her energy, and through this assaulting her enemies. Of course her attack is doing this to the other Birds of Paradise, filling them with her purity so they reach their enlightened modes.
The other way she can use her energy is if it's through defense, conjuring walls of light and bright flashes to hinder her attacker while she attempts to flee. As long as she has some spell energy in her she's invinvible, needing to bait her into giving her magic to a warrior so she's bound into a physical body.
personality
Selene can be very caring and motherly, she will not tolerate corruption or indecision. She treats the other birds of paradise as her daughters, anything weaker than her cradled in her wings. However magic is very sporadic and unpredictable, someone she once admired she can hate with an unrelenting passion the next demanding the other birds of paradise eradicate him/her until he no longer exits; this revolving door of emotions would soon be adopted by the other avians, how they kill varying so long as they are dead.
