Sendai has arrived. Please leave the night battles to me.
===================
Oh joy... the night battle ninja of Kantai Collection, and I'm hosting her. Girl, I regularly lose enough sleep at night to Skyrim and KanColle, so calm yer ovaries, why don't you?

What? Night battle?

...How.

Whatever the case may be, let's get this profile kicked off. While laid down in the water in February as stated above, Sendai's military career actually began the day she was commissioned by the Japanese navy, in April of 1924. She was assigned to patrol the Yangtze River in China. She played an important role in the opening stages of the Second Sino-Japanese War by participating in the Battle of Shanghai, so Sendai's been active even before World War II. At the time of the attack on Pearl Harbor, she was running errands for the invasion of Malaya, engaging American and British forces. By some miracle, though, she managed to miss combat during the battle of Midway... although, I now see her giving me a bit of a stink eye, so maybe miracle isn't the right term for it. "Freak accident", more like? I dunno. In actuality, she was a fair distance behind the main fleet that participated in the battle, too far to engage us Americans. But before this paragraph gets bigger than it needs to be, let me cut myself off with this: Of the four battles Sendai participated in (I dunno if it's total or just WWII), three of those were at night, and that's why she's so obsessed with night battles. Either that, or she's stealthily horny, I'm not sure. This would historically come to an end on November 3rd, 1943, engaging Allied forces in her final night battle the prior night (incidentally almost colliding with Shigure in the process)

Being a non-destroyer, Sendai is notably lacking in a sailor fuku that I know of. Rather, in her first form (not pictured here), she looks more like some form of... idol? I'm not sure how to put it. Well, actually, it IS a sailor fuku, but not of a school variety. Still, pleated over the knee skirt? Really? To tell her apart from her sister ships, Naka and Jintsuu, Sendai is the one with the short-cut hair and small twin pigtails. Come her kai ni form, Sendai... well, she becomes a ninja. I mean, just look at the picture. The way she holds her torpedoes, the style in which she keeps her newfound scarf, and she even has a kunoichi's... er... fishnet gloves? A-Are those standard issue for anime kunoichi, and if so, why? But hey, at least her color scheme isn't bright orange... oh wait, real ninja actually WOULD have worn that since they actually weren't in the "usual" ninja garb historically, nevermind.

...Huh. She's actually keeping quiet so far--wait. She was standing in the corner of the room... O-okay, that's creepy. Five Night Battles With Sendai, anyone? o.O;

Aside from her almost unnatural obsession with night battles as a ship girl, Sendai, from what I've seen, is actually fairly amicable. A bit pushy, yes, but at the very least, if she sees a fellow kanmusu struggling, she'll offer a hand, especially if they're in the same squadron. At least, that's what the official KanColle anime has shown in the case of Fubuki. I'm actually surprised.

Light Cruisers are the next step up from Destroyers in terms of firepower and durability in Kantai Collection. They have evade rates just a smidgeon below the smaller girls, and can attack submarines using depth charges. As an added bonus, a lot of light cruisers can actually equip scouting seaplanes, though this is normally for remodels. If I'm not mistaken, though, the Sendai girls can all do that right off the bat. Among the other Sendai girls, Sendai herself starts off as just slightly stronger than Naka and Jintsuu, although with her pictured remodel, she becomes a beast to be feared when the sun goes down. Oh, and here's a little trivia: Japanese sailors in the Imperial Japanese Navy were actually trained to spot enemy vessels in the dead of night with their naked eye. No special equipment that I know of, just badass training. Damn.

Oh there she is, she's just raiding my frid--oh whoa, wait. Wait, wait, Sendai, wait up, stop! You're about to step on one of Natalie's mines--
