Seles has been broken.

Seles never bargained to live this long. She was born and raised to be a hero amongst her people, a people that have long since faded into memory. For her failure she has been cursed with immortality by the woman she despised most, Revari, and her very identity removed from existence. She was reborn as Seles Dusk, and given the role of being Revari’s daughter as one big sadistic mockery. For over ten thousand years, she was nothing but a plaything, her very existence a joke to keep her hated enemy amused. For ten thousand years, her pride was fueled by seething hatred and spite, and she degenerated into a genuine monster.

Until Revari disappeared.

By Revari’s last known order, Seles has been living with the witch-queen Miria and her daughter Jacqueline. While she has traded one evil witch for another (and her treatment leaves much to be desired), Seles cannot bear the same hatred she has for her new foster family. Over the years she’s spent with them helping raise Jacqueline, the flames of her hatred have died down. She’s let her hatred of Revari define so much of what she is, that without it…she’s empty.

Will the fallen heroine ever know happiness now?

Backstory:

Seles was born a genius. Whatever her name was, she still has the faint memory of her dazzling red hair she used to have. She was once known as the Red Locked Heroine to some, which is the closest thing she has to her previous identity. She was born in the realm of Mirrorshade, and ascended to the rank of captain of the guard at a very early age. She was a grandmaster in both the sword and magic, and was fiercely protective of the royal family….or at least, most of it. It’s said that she hated the then-princess, Revari, the day she was born. Her plotting and conniving quickly made her ascend to be her archnemesis, and her suspicions were concerned when the king and queen were both murdered by Revari’s hand upon reaching adulthood. Though the red-locked heroine fought Revari fiercely, she was defeated. And yet, Revari did not kill her. She locked her away in her womb, restructuring her from the ground-up. Thus, she became Seles, her new daughter, and a mockery of her past self. She was cursed with immortality so that she couldn’t commit suicide, and taken under her archenemy’s wing.

Seles endured millennia of torture under Revari’s care. In turn, the assassination attempts she made on her were countless, but always fruitless. With an inability to form attachments with mortal humans and letting nothing but hatred define herself, Seles had been corrupted into a complete sociopath. She has done a lot of terrible things over the years. She’s murdered innocents for fun, toppled governments out of spite, among countless other sins because her life has lost all meaning. Seles went from heroine to monster.

What started out as one of Revari’s games became a longer term commitment than she bargained for. Seles was sent to live with a friend of hers, Miria, to be taught manners of becoming a proper lady. What Seles didn’t know is that this would last the rest of her life to present day, with Revari’s disappearance. Miria had “gifted” Seles with indestructible, enchanted shoes that ensure that she is always kept on a metaphorically short leash. Despite this, her treatment has been generally warm over the years. Miria made it quite clear that she would watch over the young Jacqueline for the rest of her existence, a job she begrudgingly accepted at first. And yet, in these bizarre circumstances, Seles finally felt something she hasn’t in a long time. She felt attachment to another person. Slowly, but surely, her humanity has been restored to her…and devastated her. She’s fully cognizant of that she’s become a monster. And now, she has to live with it.

She also later escaped those enchanted shoes, so. That's cool.

Personality:

Seles has always been a complicated woman. She’s been generally accustomed to being brash, rude, impulsive, and even downright sociopathi. With Revari’s disappearance, she’s lost that negative constant and become emotionally unstable. Under pressure of both Miria and Jacqueline, she has been attempting to overhaul herself to be more amicable to others. She knows that there is no redemption for someone who has committed the sins she has, but she can hope to one day find peace.

Having said that, understand that she is still very much unhinged compared to an ordinary human being and should be considered dangerous if provoked.

Skills and Abilities:

Seles is little else than an immortal human who has lived far beyond her years. She is cursed with an unchanging body, incapable of growing, aging, or being wounded. This was initially a measure to keep her from suicide, but it has been both her greatest strength and the source of her madness. She is impervious to magic (although there are loopholes; for instance, a shrink spell can work if it shrinks a pocket of the universe in Seles’ vicinity), as well as poisons. This can be much to her chagrin, as this means Seles cannot get drunk. All food and drink she consumes fails to get absorbed, and passes through her digestive system. She has the body of a small, weak girl, and is incapable of building muscle with exercise (or atrophy with starvation).

Seles is superhumanly skilled in a plethora of fields from sheer experience. She is a grandmaster-at-arms in countless weapon and fighting styles, although she struggles with heavy weapons due to her small frame. Her generalized fighting style is hyper-aggressive and sometimes seen as sloppy, but it is an adaptation. As there is little consequence in her being hit, she generally gets away with berserk all-out attacks that opponents do not expect. She’s mastered more trades and hobbies than she even knows what to do with, although whether she has the patience to use that skill is another matter entirely.

Her favored weapon style is twin daggers. As such, her weapon of choice is a pair of impressively sized inky-black daggers made from demonbone.

Despite the irony of that stagnation has driven this woman insane, Seles is, and will continue to be, an evolving and story-based character. While vore is still an option for her, it is perhaps de-emphasized with her than with my other characters.
