"Superiority through stuff"

In the distant year 2463, eleven large corporations rule the world. Well, not "rule" in a sense of telling everybody what to do, but they have controlling interests in just about every aspect of the world, in just about every aspect of technology. Medical, automotive, computers, cybernetic implants, each corporation has a certain share of each market. Some are better at certain things than others, but for the most part competition is healthy, prices are competitive, and innovation is well and alive across the board. Arguably the "top" of these eleven corporations is the Darklight Corporation.

Despite having a name described by some as "the product of an angsty weeaboo board of directors", Darklight Corporation places top in over ninety percent of world markets in terms of product reliability, product performance, and customer satisfaction. The prices on their products are also the highest, but are elite in terms of performance and reliability. The fastest cars, the strongest and most reliable cybernetic implants, the most deluxe and feature-rich modular homes... if you can afford them, though Darklight Corporation does tend to offer some of the most customer-friendly payment plans.

But such a successful company certainly can't run itself. There has to be somebody intelligent enough in charge to keep the company going, and that's where this young lady comes in play. Well... apparently young. Generally only known to the public as the enigmatic "Miss Darklight", she's the CEO of Darklight Corporation and has total authority over the company, her direction having brought the company out of relative mediocrity when she was appointed some fifteen years ago. It was hardly overnight (As she likes to quote, "Rome wasn't built in a day and this company is a damn sight bigger than Rome"), but over the years under her guidance and that of her hand-picked advisers and engineers, Darklight Corporation flourished into the elite of the eleven corporations. Now that it's at the top, though, she's hardly become complacent, instead continuing to push those under her towards greater innovations, even if she does push a bit too hard at times.

In her personal life, though, she is the loving mother of her children Warp, who she adopted when she was brought in as an orphan by a Darklight associate, and Vye, who is her biological son with no identified father. To her children and her close friends she is known by her real name, Myranda. She very rarely admits to her actual age, despite being old enough to be Vye's mother, and thanks to exclusive Darklight technology regarding biological anti-aging effects, she doesn't have to. She's relatively charming and outgoing, being one of the few big corporation CEO's to be relatively publicly available, even if nobody really knows her name.

As CEO of Darklight Corporation she of course has their finest technologies available to her, including many things that are not on the market or still very experimental. One such thing is a device she wears on her left wrist. It's a sleek white form-fitting cuff made of very high-tech plastics with buttons built-in all around it but barely visible with how seamless they are. This device acts as a General Purpose Input Device, capable of projecting a holographic screen, a hard-light keyboard, and interfaces to a very wide variety of devices, including some of Myranda's own implants. She doesn't exactly go around telling everyone about the implants she has, but she's very much more than meets the eye, as it were. She'd have to be, to keep her position! And in her private, entirely secret room at home? Well... Only very special people get invited in there~

The world she lives in is a bit like far-future Shadowrun, with a mix of magic and technology, and magical races and such, but not actually related to Shadowrun. It's something like an almost-utopia, where the world has a utopian appearance but the actual living conditions are not quite there, but far from terrible either.

tl;dr Basically a far-future female Tony Stark analogue. But seriously, just read the profile.
