Warp

An alt of The_Octavo. An assassin from the future with some rather... unique abilities.

It is the year 2463. War was begi- wait, wrong universe. Large-scale war has been a distant memory for over a century, as humans have spread themselves across the galaxy and the common reasons for wars became less common. Small skirmishes between groups of differing opinions are commonplace, but are nothing like the wars of the twentieth and twenty-first centuries. Nowadays, the thing anyone has to fear the most from others is assassination. With weapons as powerful as they are, advances in personal shield technology, robotic guards, and a powerful police force, stealth and subterfuge have become the name of the game if you want someone dead. That's where Warp, and the corporation she belongs to, comes in. Darklight Corporation is a guild of assassins, hidden by the company front of weapons testing and analysis. Anyone with enough money can hire a Darklight assassin, provided they have the right contacts to know the right people who might be able to point them in the right direction of hiring the assassin in the first place. The Darklight assassin guild is, somewhat remarkably, comprised of about 80 percent women, 20 percent men. The corporation overall has a much more equal balance, but girls tend to make better assassins than men in this day and age, where stealth and subterfuge play a much greater role than pure physical strength does, and statistics of the day show that women are better at this particular kind of stealth and subterfuge. But maybe you want to know a little more specifically about that stunning girl in the picture? Well, read on.

Before we get into her history, perhaps you should know first who she is now. Her real (chosen) name is Katiana, but she was nicknamed Warp by the other members of the Darklight guild because of the unique experimental personal warp technology she was implanted with. She is twenty-three years old, six feet tall (Tall for a girl, but more on that in a moment). She has slightly long blonde hair that she generally wears pinned up to keep it out of the way, and stunning green eyes. A lithe and agile frame, which she got from the ten years of training and practice concerning her current occupation as a Darklight assassin.

"You're an abomination to God!". Rather harsh words for parents to say to their thirteen-year-old child. Less than one percent of the total galactic human population considers themselves religious in the 25th century, but those who do, such as Warp's parents, are even more staunch in their belief than ever before. This is why Warp's parents yelled these hateful words at their young son when he told them he wanted to be a girl. It's a terrible thing, for a child to feel like their parents want them gone. Less than a week later, on a stormy night in New York City on Earth, both of Warp's parents were killed by a Darklight assassin (who was hired to kill them by a pro-Nano-Bionics corporation, since her parents were stout vocal advocates against humans modifying their bodies, on religious grounds), and the unthinkable happened: Warp caught the assassin just after they committed the act. She was remarkably dispassionate about it; almost grateful, even. After days of her parents belittling her and calling her the most hateful things, they were gone. The Darklight assassin, not wanting to leave witnesses, especially not a child who might be extremely talkative, (and it being considered impolite to kill somebody you weren't being paid to kill), took Warp back with her, where she (he, at the time) was sort of collectively adopted by the assassin's guild. He voiced again his desire to become a girl, and this time his wishes fell on attentive ears. Warp was allowed to begin a regimen of female hormones, combined with classes to help her act more like a girl and socialize more as one. She trained with the other assassins, becoming just as good as them at an even younger age. After turning eighteen, she underwent surgery to complete her transformation into a woman, and was implanted with a bionic womb, along with several other bionic upgrades that all other assassins receive.

This bionic womb does not allow her to be a mother, but allow her to do something much more important to an assassin like herself: Unbirth others. It allows her to either hold them so she can take them back for interrogation, or to absorb them, her victims' bodies turned to energy to power her bionic systems. She has other bionic implants that allow her to swallow others whole, but with a similar result of them being converted to energy by specialized systems rather than digested to waste like most would expect. The processes of digestion and energy conversion are remarkably similar, though. Other notes on her skills as an assassin: She is masterful in the use of her two swords she is shown with, and has come up with specialized techniques to extend her personal shield around them so that they can more easily penetrate the shields of others. Advances in personal shield technology have made guns and lasers much less effective, but she is still highly trained in the use of them. As for her personal warp technology, she is capable of warping herself and any carried objects or persons a short distance, in the neighborhood of about five meters. This is highly dangerous and experimental technology, and it has the possibility of failing or causing dangerous malfunctions. As such she tends to only use it when she absolutely HAS to, such as trying to warp outside of someone that just ate her. This is not guaranteed to work, though, and magic users in particular are capable of blocking the warp completely, as long as they are aware of it and take the necessary precautions.

Some other miscellaneous notes on Warp: Though she was once a boy, that part of her life is FAR behind her, and she fully identifies and acts like a girl. On a related note, she despises the word "tranny". She is transgender, and "tranny" is typically used as a slur against such people. As such if you use it around her, you'll probably receive a sword to the shin. As a player, too, I hate the word, and if you use it I might go so far as to not play with you anymore, depending. Warp is probably 70% pred 30% prey. She will reform if she is killed in any manner, though neither she nor any of the other assassins know this. The Darklight guild has specialized equipment that brings back the assassins in the event of their death, but it keeps them unaware of this lest they get too relaxed on their missions. Should they die and reform, they are implanted with false memories of them failing their mission in some way but surviving, with no memory of their death. As such Warp will never remember someone killing her, and if they suggest they did and she doesn't remember it and as such tries to shake her loyalty to the Darklight guild then she may well become angry with such a person.
