Metroid Manga Chapters 1-2: Earth Mining Colony K-2L, one of the key suppliers of Afloralite in the known galaxy, is massacred by the Space Pirate forces led by the life form known as Ridley. Among the casualties are Rodney Aran, who sacrificed himself in an attempt to destroy the hijacked Afloralite freighter, and Virginia Aran, who was annihilated trying to protect her daughter Samus from Ridley. The only survivor is 3yo Samus Aran and her pet Rabbilis, Pyonchi, who are both rescued by the bird-like Chozo race and taken to safety on the Chozo homeworld of Zebes. Samus is injected with Chozo DNA to help her survive in Zebes' harsh climates.

Year of the Cosmos 2069
Metroid Manga Chapter 2: 11 years later, 14yo Samus is trained in the use of the Chozo power suit, a weapon that takes intense mental focus to simply wear. During a break from training, Samus uncovers a field of strange alien flowers full of beautiful butterflies known as Iono Feria. Her hardened instructor, Gray Voice, orders the entire field of Badger Clovers incinerated, saying they were a poisonous flower planted during a previous Space Pirate attack on Zebes years ago. The Iono Feria suddenly produce Space Pirate weaponry and attack Gray Voice, but Samus uses her power suit to get him clear of the line of fire before destroying the weapons without hurting the butterflies. Gray Voice, however, orders the Chozo computer, Mother Brain, to incinerate the Iono Feria anyway, as they were carrying the pollen that delivered the deadly seeds in the first place. Eventually, it is decided that she must continue her training on her own, and she is sent to join the Galactic Federation Police Force.

Metroid Manga Chapters 3-12: 16yo Samus befriends fellow Federation cadets Kreatz and Mauk, and together they single-handedly liberate a planet from Space Pirate control, but as the Space Pirate leader is interrogated he reveals that this was a diversion for a larger operation against Zebes. Against the orders of her CO, Adam Malkovich, Samus heads for Zebes along with Kreatz and Mauk, but the attack has already occurred and the Chozo that were unable to evacuate have been taken prisoner. Samus finds a leftover transmission from her old caretaker, Old Bird, containing information on the Chozo's secret project, the Metroid, before the party splits up, with Kreatz and Mauk searching for the prisoners, and Samus searching for the Chozo computer, Mother Brain. Samus discovers that Mother Brain and her old instructor, Gray Voice, have betrayed the Chozo, before she is overpowered by Ridley and taken captive, forced to watch Ridley torture her Chozo caretakers before Mauk and Kreatz create a disturbance with the weapons of their ship. Left traumatized and broken from Ridley's tortures, Samus is consoled by the Chozo before being able to carry on and escape with her caretakers, who reveal that the one who provided the DNA that was infused with her was, in fact, Gray Voice. Gray Voice turns on Mother Brain in his own Chozo power suit, revealing that his intention was to destroy her from the start. Before he can do so, however, Ridley intervenes and ultimately kills him. The Federation fleet arrives in the system to rescue the ship carrying Samus and her comrades, and Ridley and the Space Pirate mothership are forced to withdraw.

Metroid Other M: Samus is stationed with Adam Malkovich's crew, including soldier Anthony Higgs and Adam's brother, Ian Malkovich. However, her reckless and individualistic attitude leaves her an outcast among the other soldiers. After a botched rescue mission results in Ian's death, Samus decides to split from the Federation and become an independent bounty hunter.

Metroid Manga Chapters 13-14: Four years after Samus' first ordeal on Zebes, the threat of Mother Brain and the Space Pirates is known to the Federation. 20yo Samus is briefed on the disappearance of several investigation teams sent to the uncharted world of SR-388, and concludes that Mother Brain may be looking to harness the power of the Metroid. She is ordered to go to her former home of Zebes where the Metroids have been taken, and destroy Mother Brain.

Metroid Manga Chapters 15-16/Metroid 1/Metroid Zero Mission: Samus arrives on Zebes and finds the world radically changed, as if it has been made to serve Mother Brain. First defeating Ridley's comrade, Kraid, then defeating Ridley himself after drawing him out of hiding, Samus makes her way to Tourian where she finds Mother Brain and her new army of Metroids. Samus destroys the Metroids and Mother Brain, but as she attempts to escape in her ship, she is shot down and crash-lands near the Chozo ruins. Still in shock from the crash, she is forced to sneak in her Zero Suit until she enters into the main chamber of the Chozo temple, where she faces the ultimate Chozo trial. After passing, she is gifted with a fully powered Varia Suit, and uses it to destroy the Space Pirate mothership, along with a prototype Meta-Ridley.

Kirby's Dream Land 3: Samus is sent to the strangely-shaped world of Popstar to investigate a possible Metroid outbreak, but finds that the threat has already been dealt with by a little pink hero known as Kirby.

Star Fox/Star Fox 64/Star Fox 64 3D/Star Fox Zero: For the past 50 years, the Lylat System had been stuck in a time loop created by the teleportation experiments of the scientist Andross, forced to relive the same conflict with Andross over and over again until Andross reached a desired outcome--the death of Fox McCloud and the Star Fox team. The Galactic Federation had been monitoring the fluctuations of the time bubble Andross had created, realizing that anyone that wandered inside would become trapped within the loop. The Federation commissions Samus to find a solution to disperse the time bubble so they can finally move in and render aid to the Lylat System. Samus uses a special beacon of Chozo origin to create a pocket dimension within the time bubble, which sucks Fox McCloud's Arwing into it when he comes across it in the Cornerian asteroid belt. There, Samus is able to contact Fox and inform him that the entire system is trapped in a time loop, and the only way to disperse the time bubble is if Andross makes a mistake and believes he's about to get what he wants. Otherwise, any victory against Andross would just lead to a time reset, and Fox would have no memory of the previous battle. Samus gives Fox the specifics of her plan to corner Andross, and instructions on how to hardwire a message into his Arwing's databanks that would only play once those specific conditions are met, letting him know it's time to land the finishing blow. Andross, detecting the temporal anomaly, starts to become wise to the Federation's plans and performs a time reset, but the damage is already done, and even with only vague deja vu of previous encounters, Fox manages to trick Andross into using his base's hidden teleporter to transport it to Corneria and abduct General Pepper's control tower, draining the temporal device of its power and placing Andross right in Samus' trap. The Arwing's hidden message triggers, filling Fox in on all the details he's forgotten, and letting him know the time to truly end the Lylat Wars is now. Fox defeats Andross one final time, and with no power left to perform a time reset, the time bubble is dispersed and the Lylat System is freed, allowing the Federation to provide relief efforts to the war-ravaged planets.

Year of the Cosmos 2076
Metroid Prime/Metroid Prime Pinball: A year after Samus' Zero Mission, the 21yo hunter picks up a distress signal of unknown origin coming from a derelict Space Pirate vessel in orbit over the world of Tallon IV. Further investigation reveals that the Space Pirates are experimenting with some kind of parasites and a strange new material known as Phazon. After destroying a loose parasite queen and causing the reactor to destabilize in the process, Samus escapes the ship, but not before finding her reborn arch-nemesis Ridley in his new metallic body before he flies off. After attempting to give chase, Samus explores the surface of Tallon IV, learning that the remnants of the Chozo settled here before a meteor crashed onto the planet and unleashed a corrupting plague of Phazon. The Chozo sealed away the source of the Phazon behind a lock that needed 12 artifact keys to open. After finding the twelve keys, Samus arrives at the Impact Crater, where she is ambushed by Meta-Ridley. After defeating Meta-Ridley, Samus enters the Impact Crater and faces off against the Phazon entity known as Metroid Prime, using her new Phazon Suit to help her defeat it. However, the creature absorbs the Phazon Suit in its death throws, taking some of Samus' DNA and transforming into the life form known as Dark Samus.

Metroid Prime Hunters: Samus is hired to retrieve the artifacts of "ultimate power" of the extinct Alimbic race in the Tetra Galaxy, while fending off the other bounty hunters that pursue them. She finds that the Alimbic race was once a peaceful civilization that was destroyed by a creature called the Gorea, who was imprisoned in a Seal Sphere in a starship inside a dimensional rift. The creature was the one who sent the original message to the Federation to try and deceive hunters into freeing it, but it is destroyed when Samus and the other hunters use an ancient Alimbic weapon known as the Omega Cannon to finish it off.

Year of the Cosmos 2077
Metroid Prime 2 Echoes: A year after her encounter with Metroid Prime, 22yo Samus is hired to search for a squad of Federation troops that went missing near the planet Aether. She finds the whole squadron wiped out and the planet split into two sides--light and dark. Samus aids the Luminoth in pushing back the tide of the dark race known as the Ing, while also confronting her evil doppelganger Dark Samus for the first time. After returning the planetary energy of Aether to the temples of the Agon, Torvus, and Sanctuary regions, Samus locates the keys to the Sky Temple of Dark Aether, defeats the Emperor Ing, and claims the last of Aether's planetary energy, but is stopped by Dark Samus just as she is about to escape the collapsing world. After a final duel with her Phazon double, Samus escapes Dark Aether just before it collapses, destroying the Ing forever. She returns the remaining planetary energy to the Luminoth before departing from Aether.

Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze: While investigating a strange unnamed planet for signs of a Space Pirate base harboring a clone of Mother Brain, Samus' gunship is shot down and crash-lands in the jungles of Kong Island. Samus is able to stagger away from the crash and cross the ocean to the mainland in her Varia Suit.

Super Mario RPG Legend of the Seven Stars: Samus--tired from her trek to the mainland--manages to make her way to the Mushroom Kingdom, where she is cared for in Princess Peach's castle. She becomes acquainted with the beautiful danger-prone monarch, who lets her rest up in the guest room of her palace to prepare to confront Mother Brain's clone. During the period of Samus' recovery, before Peach ends up captured yet again by another foe for Mario to defeat, the princess confesses that, while most would see her as a constant damsel in distress, she wishes to move beyond that title and sees Samus as a symbol of strength, and an inspiration for her to become stronger. From then on, she and Samus end up becoming very close friends.

Year of the Cosmos 2078
Metroid Prime 3 Corruption: A year after Samus' mission on Aether, the Federation hires Samus and several other bounty hunters to investigate the infection of the Federation's Aurora artificial intelligence network from a mysterious virus of Space Pirate origin. Before they can begin their investigation, the Space Pirates launch an offensive on the Federation meetup on the world of Norian, just as a mysterious stellar object enters on a collision course with the planet. Samus and the other bounty hunters assist the Federation in reactivating the planetary defenses, during which Samus has another encounter with Meta-Ridley. The strange stellar object is destroyed, but not before Dark Samus arrives out of nowhere to infect Samus and the three other hunters with Phazon, slowly corrupting them and leaving them in a coma for several months. Samus is revived from her coma to learn that two similar objects struck the planets of Bryyo and Elisia and infected them with Phazon, and a third had struck the Space Pirate homeworld as well. Her fellow hunters--Rundas, Ghor, and Gandrayda--had all been sent to each planet to attempt to destroy the Leviathan meteorites and eliminate the Phazon threat, but none of them had reported back. With her new Phazon Enhancement Device slowing her corruption and allowing her to use Phazon as a weapon, Samus searches Bryyo and Elisia for her infected comrades, having to put Rundas and Ghor out of their misery. She also restores the infected Aurora units of Bryyo and Elisia, before destroying the Leviathan meteorites on both worlds. The Federation launches a full offensive on the Space Pirate homeworld, allowing Samus to track down and kill the infected Gandrayda, before destroying the final Leviathan meteorite. The Federation discovers the source of all Phazon as a living planet known as Phaaze, in a far corner of the cosmos that would take wormhole travel to reach. They locate a Leviathan in the orbit of the Space Pirate homeworld, where Samus encounters the Phazon-enhanced Omega Ridley before hijacking the Leviathan and using it to open a wormhole to Phaaze. Samus fights her way to the core of the living planet, where she faces off against Dark Samus in one final battle, before the entity takes possession of the stolen Aurora 313 unit from the G.F.S. Valhalla in a last desperate attempt. After defeating Dark Samus, who has become one with the core of the planet, Samus escapes just as the planet Phaaze explodes, purging the universe of Phazon for good.

Metroid Prime Federation_Force: Four Federation marines of the Federation_Force elite mech squad are stationed in the Bermuda system, where they patrol the system's three moons of Excelcion, Bion, and Talvania. During an operation on Talvania, the Federation_Force is ambushed by a squad of Space Pirates that seem to have been super-sized to match the team's mechs. The pirates also manage to steal some dangerous wildlife from Excelcion as well as an ancient data codex from Bion. Samus is called in to assist the Federation_Force in destroying the pirates' weapons factories and to investigate their presence in the Bermuda system. After rescuing a survey team on Excelcion that was sent to study the pirate threat, it's discovered that the pirates are enlarging and commanding the dangerous lifeforms in the system, and Samus finds that they are also constructing a new type of superweapon. Through the efforts of both Samus and the Federation_Force, it's discovered that this new weapon is known as the DoomsEye, and could potentially destroy Federation HQ. The team also finds that the pirates are using the ancient Bion race's technology to manipulate their size and the size of other dangerous organisms, as well as cloak some of their troops and their new weapon with a new type of camouflage. The Space Pirates also attempt to use their augmentation technology on their shipment of Metroids, before the Metroids are destroyed by the Federation_Force. After the Federation_Force destroys the three camouflage transfer devices and reveals the location of the DoomsEye, the pirates retaliate by using their new weapon to destroy or cripple 90% of the Federation fleet in a single blast. When the Federation_Force infiltrates the superweapon to destroy its protective force field, they find that Samus has been captured and augmented by the Space Pirates, increasing her size and making her a slave to their will. After breaking her free of the pirates' control, the Federation_Force manages to finish off the DoomsEye with help from the restored Samus. However, she is unaware of the identities or true purpose of the Federation_Force members...

Metroid Prime Federation_Force: The bounty hunter Sylux--arch-rival to Samus--sneaks aboard a Federation cruiser and steals a captured Metroid for unknown purposes.

Year of the Cosmos 2079
Metroid 2 Return of Samus/Another Metroid 2 Remake/Metroid Samus Returns: Four years since her first encounter with the Metroids, 24yo Samus is sent to SR-388 to wipe out the Metroid race once and for all. Through her exploration of the planet, Samus learns of the original intent by the Chozo to use the Metroids to eliminate an even greater threat lurking within the planet, their experiments with the mysterious Aeion energy, and their startling discovery that the Aeion was triggering sudden evolutions or mutations in the Metroids. She also learns of a Chozo elite who murdered the initial team who made this discovery, and may or may not still be a looming threat in the future. After defeating every Alpha, Beta, Gamma, and Omega Metroid, Samus confronts and defeats the Queen Metroid. As she prepares to leave the planet, Samus witnesses a lone Metroid egg hatching, the baby Metroid sidling up to Samus, believing her to be its mother. Unable to bring herself to kill the affectionate newborn, Samus decides to take it back to her ship, only to be ambushed by the sudden arrival of Proto-Ridley, who has shown up to claim more Metroids for the experiments of the revived Space Pirate army. Samus rescues the baby Metroid from Ridley's grasp, and the baby returns the favor just as Ridley is about to pin her down and finish her off. Together, Samus and the baby Metroid defeat Ridley and take off from SR-388, and Samus brings the Metroid with her back to Federation HQ, handing it over for further study.

Super Metroid/Metroid Other M: The last Metroid is in captivity. The galaxy is at peace. Just as Samus is leaving the research station to hunt more bounties, she receives a distress signal and heads back to find the station massacred. Ridley steals the infant Metroid and takes it to Zebes, back to where it all began. Samus explores the old caverns and takes down Kraid and Ridley again, but as she's about to enter Tourian, a massive Metroid dives on top of her and begins sucking her dry, before suddenly stopping. This gigantic creature is the infant Metroid, grown to a monstrous size and now having realized its mistake and recognized its mother. Samus proceeds into Tourian and comes face to face with a reborn Mother Brain, who transforms into a huge and powerful beast with a weapon that takes down Samus in one blast. As Mother Brain is about to finish Samus off, the Metroid comes to her rescue, shielding her from Mother Brain's attacks and restoring her energy before being destroyed. Enraged, Samus uses her newly-acquired Hyper Beam to blast Mother Brain into dust, but this triggers a self-destruct mechanism which will not only destroy the base, but will also ignite the core and destroy the entire planet. Samus escapes just in time, and returns home for her debriefing. The quarantine officer gives her suit a good cleaning before she delivers her report to Federation High Command.

Super Smash Bros.: Samus is invited to compete in the first ever multiversal Super Smash Bros. tournament, where she gets to test her strength against the pink hero Kirby, who she met back on Popstar, as well as other heroes like Mario, Luigi, and Yoshi of the Mushroom Kingdom, Donkey Kong of Kong Island, the Hero of Hyrule, Link, Captain Falcon of the F-Zero racing circuit, a psychic child named Ness from the town of Onett, two cute Pokemon known as Pikachu and Jigglypuff, and the all-powerful Master Hand. Samus also comes face to face with Fox McCloud of the Star Fox team, who she had originally assisted in dispelling Andross' time bubble over the Lylat System four years prior.

Year of the Cosmos 2080
Metroid Other M: Samus receives a distress signal from a Federation vessel using the emergency code "Baby's Cry", named for the urgency of a baby crying. When she arrives, she finds a squad of elite troopers from the 07th Platoon of the Galactic Federation Marine Corps, including her old squadmate Anthony Higgs, and led by her old CO Adam Malkovich. After Samus assists them in reaching the command deck, Adam permits her to work with his squad, but only if she restricts the use of her suit's functions to his authorization. From the main console, the platoon learns that the vessel they're on is a Federation bottle ship, used for the research and storage of various life forms and ecosystems. Adam orders Samus and the rest of the platoon to search different areas of the vessel, while he monitors them all from the main ops console. After encountering a mysterious creature in the main biosphere, Samus meets up with the team at the Biosphere Exam Center, where they discover that a woman named Madeline Bergman has been conducting illegal experiments on bioweapons for the Federation. As the platoon leaves the Exam Center, they are attacked by an unidentified reptilian creature, which escapes into the neighboring Pyrosphere. Adam orders Samus to follow the creature, but soon diverts her to the Cryosphere when it is discovered that a survivor may be hiding out there. Before Samus can rescue the survivor, she is attacked by an 07th Platoon soldier piloting an industrial mech. Samus manages to destroy the mech, but the attacker--dubbed the "Deleter"--manages to escape. Samus resumes her pursuit of the mysterious creature in the Pyrosphere, only to run into Anthony Higgs seemingly pointing a rifle at her head, before shooting at the creature behind her. Samus and Anthony chase the creature deeper into the Pyrosphere, only to discover its true form... a reborn and regrown Ridley! Samus is suddenly overcome with emotions and traumas she hasn't felt in years, causing her to freeze up and her power suit to fluctuate and phase in and out. Anthony tries to destroy Ridley himself, but is nearly killed when he plummets to the bottom of the Pyrosphere. Samus is able to bring herself out of her emotional state just in time to face Ridley and send him fleeing from the Pyrosphere, but not only is she troubled by Anthony's presumed death; she's also concerned about what happened to her... She faced Ridley many, many times before, and that NEVER happened! Since she has a mission to complete, however, she is forced to put those concerns aside and tries to contact Adam as she is leaving the Pyrosphere.

Metroid Other M: Not getting a response from Adam, Samus starts to head for the command deck, only to catch sight of the Deleter heading to the Biosphere. Samus tracks the Deleter to the Bioweapon Research Center, where she meets the woman she attempted to rescue before, who reveals herself as Madeline Bergman. Madeline tells Samus that the bottle ship was meant to house creatures and ecosystems related to the planet Zebes, and the Federation was using a recreation of Tourian known as "Sector Zero" to propagate a new race of Metroids from a fragment of DNA of the infant Metroid's remains taken from Samus' Power Suit. She also reveals that they had also developed a supercomputer to control the Metroids known as MB--a recreation of Mother Brain--and that Adam Malkovich was behind the program. Madeline reveals that MB intends to launch an attack against the Federation using the bottle ship. Samus immediately heads to Sector Zero to stop the Metroids and the new Mother Brain, but is incapacitated by Adam, who tells her the Metroids in that sector are engineered to be immune to their traditional weakness of extreme cold, and that the Federation used his initial report in opposition of the project to attach his name to it. Adam also tells her that "Madeline Bergman" is not who she appears to be, and orders her to finish Ridley and secure a survivor in the research center, before he seals himself inside Sector Zero and initiates the self-destruct program, taking himself and the Metroids with it. Mourning the loss of the man she saw as a father figure, Samus returns to the research center, where she finds the body of the Deleter--James Pierce--the drained corpse of Ridley, and the survivor locked in a separate room. She soon discovers why, when the survivor opens the main doors in her panic and unleashes a Queen Metroid upon Samus. After defeating the Queen Metroid, Samus confronts the survivor, who reveals herself to be the real Madeline Bergman. Madeline reveals that the woman Samus had met earlier was the supercomputer MB, the reincarnation of Mother Brain used to control the Metroids. When the scientists tried to remove MB's emotions, she felt betrayed by them and Madeline, who had treated her like her own daughter and given her the name "Melissa". MB had sworn vengeance against the Federation, and taken control of the Metroids and Zebesian Space Pirates to start a revolt, which led Madeline to send the distress signal. As Samus is leaving with Madeline, they are confronted by MB, before they are surrounded by a squad of Federation elite troopers. MB summons the bottle ship's most deadly creatures to destroy everyone, but she is stopped by Samus and Madeline, and neutralized by Federation forces. The colonel leading the troopers orders Madeline arrested and Samus escorted back to her ship. One trooper initially complies, but then reveals himself as Anthony Higgs, the only survivor of the 07th Platoon. Anthony tells the colonel off and says that Madeline is to come with him and Samus to be taken home instead, under orders from the Federation chairman himself. Samus, Anthony, and Madeline return to Galactic Federation HQ, where Samus starts to come to terms with the loss of Adam.

Metroid Other M: A few days after the incident, Samus returns to the bottle ship, which has been marked for destruction by the Federation. As she searches the ship for Adam's discarded helmet--the only piece of him that remains--she is attacked by the creature responsible for her recent bouts of emotional instability, Phantoon, which had latched onto her mind and followed her from Zebes to hit her at her most vulnerable moment. Samus overcomes Phantoon's manipulations and defeats the ghostly entity once and for all, grabbing Adam's helmet from the command deck and escaping just before the bottle ship is destroyed.

Super Smash Bros. Melee: Hoping to blow off some steam in the wake of Adam's death, Samus competes in the second Super Smash Bros. multiversal tournament, where she reunites with her former rivals and faces some new opponents to test her skills, including the Koopa King Bowser and his supercharged Giga form, the mighty Ganondorf, Fox's fellow Star Fox pilot Falco Lombardi, the Ice Climber duo, the strangely flat Mr. Game And Watch, the powerful Pokemon Mewtwo, two handsome swordsmen named Marth and Roy, the mystical Princess Zelda, and the manic Crazy Hand. Samus also reunites with Princess Peach, who can already tell something is wrong with her dear friend by how ferociously she attempts to take down her opponents. Eventually, Samus decides to confide in the princess and informs Peach of Adam's death. Peach is heartbroken by the news and gifts Samus with a special Warp Whistle that will carry her right to Peach's castle from anywhere in the universe, in case Samus ever needs a friend to talk to.

Year of the Cosmos 2081
Subspace Emissary: During the multiversal conflict with the Subspace Emissary that disrupted the opening of the Super Smash Bros. Brawl tournament and resulted in many Smash heroes getting captured and turned into trophies, Samus infiltrates the Emissary's research facility and finds Pikachu being tortured in a cage. Feeling pity for the Pokemon and reminded of memories of her former pet, Pyonchi, Samus frees Pikachu from his prison. From then on, she and little Pikachu become friends. Together, they discover that Ridley had been cloned back to life to fight for the Subspace Emissary, and Pikachu saves Samus from Ridley's grasp before the two of them manage to defeat him. From the research facility, Samus and Pikachu enter the Subspace bomb factory, where the Emissary produces its reality-warping Subspace bombs. They enter the main bomb storage chamber, where they find the Emissary leader and an army of ROBs waiting for them. They are soon joined by Captain Falcon, Donkey and Diddy Kong, and Olimar and his Pikmin just as Ganondorf appears in a hologram and orders the detonation of all the bombs in the chamber. The leader, seemingly having enough of the destruction the Emissary has caused, decides to turn on his fellow robots and is immediately fired upon, revealing himself to be a modified ROB unit the whole time. The modified ROB gives the command for all other ROBs to shut down so he, Samus, Pikachu, the Kongs, Captain Falcon, and Olimar can make their escape, but they are ambushed by the revived Meta Ridley on the way out. The heroes manage to defeat Meta Ridley and make their escape just as all the bombs in the factory explode into a massive Subspace rift. The heroes reunite with their comrades on the surface just as the titanic Subspace cannon headed by Ganondorf and Bowser appears out of the rift and begins firing to make more rifts. All of the Smash heroes use the airship Halberd to approach the cannon, but Ganondorf opens fire and destroys the ship. The heroes make their final approach in their chosen crafts, dodging Ganondorf's turbolaser fire and causing massive damage to the cannon, forcing Ganondorf and Bowser to retreat into Subspace as the heroes fly into the rift in pursuit. Ganondorf betrays Bowser and turns him into a trophy before greeting his superior, the Master Hand, only to discover that he and Master Hand have been manipulated by the all-powerful Subspace entity, Tabuu. Ganondorf tries to attack Tabuu, but gets turned into a trophy, only for the Master Hand to break free of Tabuu's chains and attempt to attack the entity as well. Tabuu proves too powerful for both Master Hand and the Smash heroes, and transforms all the heroes into trophies. Just as all seems lost, the newly-revived Luigi, Ness, and King Dedede arrive in Subspace. Dedede revives and subdues Bowser, convincing him to join his team. Together they revive Kirby, who revives Link and Princess Zelda. The two, in turn, revive Ganondorf while Dedede revives Wario. Together they traverse the great maze of Subspace rifts protecting Tabuu, reviving their fallen friends. Tabuu prepares to turn them back into trophies, but is stopped by the arrival of a new ally, Sonic the Hedgehog. With the power of every Smash hero, Tabuu is ultimately defeated and the Subspace rifts are closed, restoring peace to the multiverse.

Super Smash Bros. Brawl: After the victory over the Subspace Emissary, the Brawl tournament is resumed. Samus battles against new opponents like Donkey Kong's buddy Diddy Kong, Fox's rival Star Wolf, the disgusting Wario, the skilled Pokemon Trainer, Captain Olimar and his Pikmin, ROB the Robot, Pit of Angel Land, the tragically-fated Lucas, the greedy King Dedede and his Big Gay Dance, the mysterious Meta Knight, the strong and noble swordsman Ike, the legendary Lucario, the silent but deadly Solid Snake, and the fastest thing alive, Sonic the Hedgehog. She is able to push her suit to full power with her deadly Zero Beam, which unleashes a devastating wave of energy at her opponents, at the cost of her Power Suit, leaving her exposed in her Zero Suit with only her emergency whip-pistol as her weapon.

Metroid Fusion: A year after Adam's death, B.S.L. Research hires 26yo Samus to escort their teams to collect samples from SR-388. It is here that Samus has her first encounter with the life forms known as the X-Parasites, which invade her systems and nearly kill her. A cure is found in a vaccine made from the DNA of the infant Metroid, and once healed, Samus is sent back to the B.S.L. Research station in orbit above SR-388 by the Federation, under the agreement that she'll work with a computer CO, who she ironically names "Adam". The station is overrun by the X, and Samus must use her new Metroid abilities to absorb the X on the station and combat her X duplicate, the SA-X. Eventually, Samus enters the restricted area of the station despite Adam's authority, and discovers that the Federation is continuing its Metroid breeding program. She tries to reach the bridge to destroy the station, but is stopped by Adam, before he reveals himself to bear the personality of her former CO, Adam Malkovich. With Adam's help, she steers the station on a collision course with the planet, intent on destroying both the X and the Metroids, but her passage out of the station is blocked by an Omega Metroid. The SA-X offers itself to Samus, letting her use the Ice Beam to defeat the Omega Metroid and escape the station.

Star Fox Assault: The Aparoids, a race of technologically-advanced hive-mind entities first encountered by the Cornerian fleet eight years prior to Andross' temporal imprisonment of the Lylat System, begin a massive offensive push across the Lylat System and other areas within Galactic Federation space in their bid to assimilate all organic life in the known galaxy and beyond. In the ensuing conflict known as the Aparoid War, the Galactic Federation and the Cornerian fleet join forces to defend their respective territories from the Aparoid threat, until a weakness is found through extensive research of the Aparoid cores and the Cornerian army is able to produce a self-destruct program to cripple the entire Aparoid hive mind. The Star Fox and Star Wolf teams lead an assault on the Aparoid homeworld and successfully deposit the self-destruct program in a warhead fired into the Aparoid Queen, which causes the entire Aparoid fleet to destabilize. Samus Aran is known to have participated in several battles during the Aparoid War, willingly aiding the Federation for the first and only time since the destruction of SR-388, but it is not known what specific battles or missions she was involved in. What is known is that Samus only aided the Federation out of the basic truth that refusal to do so would mean the end of all life in the galaxy.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate: Samus competes in the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate tournament, the biggest tournament yet. After taking on newcomers like a walking Piranha Plant, Chrom, Princess Daisy, King K. Rool, the Inklings, the Skull Kid, the adorable dog girl Isabelle, Ryu's fellow Street Fighter and rival Ken, the Pokemon Incineroar, and Simon and Richter Belmont, Samus is shocked to find two new and very familiar fighters booked for this year's tournament--one who's come back from the dead without explanation for the eleventh time, and one who by all accounts shouldn't even exist anymore at all! Ridley and Dark Samus have joined the battle!

World of Light: The Smash competitors discover that the Super Smash Bros. tournaments were orchestrated as a means to prepare the perfect fighters for an oncoming invasion. A divine entity known as Galeem, the lord of order and light, arrives from beyond space and time with an army of Master Hands at his command, intent on creating a new world in his image. The Smash fighters try to stand against Galeem's armies in a final battle, but are swallowed up by the divine being's immense power. Galeem consumes the rest of the universe in pure light and remakes the perfect aspects of each world into a single world of his own, the World of Light. The fighters that tried to stand against Galeem are taken by the lord of light, brainwashed into his puppets, and copied numerous times to create vessels for the many spirits left wandering the World of Light--the remnants of the universe Galeem devoured to create his new world. Galeem animates Samus' Power Suit to serve him as one of his puppets, while leaving Samus separate from her armor in her Zero Suit. The only survivor of Galeem's invasion, Kirby, sets out on a quest to free the captured fighters from Galeem's influence and release the imprisoned spirits from the fighters' copies. During his journey, Kirby manages to rescue many of his fellow fighters, including Samus and her animated Power Suit. After freeing many of the other fighters, taking on an army of Master Hands, and defeating massive enemies like Giga Bowser, the former Subspace Emissary tank robot Galleon, and the fierce dragon Rathalos, the heroes arrive at the summit of Galeem's throne and take the fight to the deity himself, forcing him to retreat. Weakening the lord of light, however, causes the barrier between light and shadow to collapse, allowing the lord of chaos and darkness, Dharkon, to invade with his army of Crazy Hands, and claim the remaining imprisoned fighters and spirits for himself. The freed Smash fighters take the fight to Dharkon's realm, freeing many more of their allies--and even a few of their enemies--on their quest, while taking down foes like Count Dracula, Marx, and Ganon, as well as Dharkon's army of Crazy Hands. Eventually, the fighters reach Dharkon himself and force him back out into a confrontation with Galeem, putting them in a position to finish the two corrupt deities for good. If one deity is destroyed, the other will gain unlimited power and consume the universe all over again, so the only solution is to destroy them both at once. After defeating both Master and Crazy Hands, a released Master Hand opens the way for the heroes to confront both Galeem and Dharkon, who put their conflict on hold to eliminate the fighters. After an intense battle with the servants of both dark and light and then with the gods themselves, Galeem and Dharkon are both destroyed, freeing the spirits they've imprisoned and restoring the universe to its former state.

Year of the Cosmos 2087
Star Fox Command: During the battle to reclaim Venom from the Anglar Empire and save the Lylat System, former Star Fox team member Krystal--still hurt by Fox McCloud's decision to remove her from the group after the Aparoid War for her own safety--decides to join up with the team's infamous rival group, Star Wolf, who wish to carve out a better reputation for themselves. After defeating the Anglar Emperor and retaking the ruined Venom for the Lylat System, Star Wolf is hailed as a team of heroes, but Krystal is still mocked and branded as a traitor for turning away from Star Fox. Unable to handle the pressure, she runs away from Star Wolf and decides to become an independent bounty hunter, calling herself "Kursed". Realizing that she might one day be asked to take on a contract that would put her in direct confrontation with one of her former elite teams, Krystal decides she needs to seek out additional training to become a true bounty hunter, and tracks down the one she thinks is most suited for the task, Samus Aran. Not known for taking on pupils, Samus initially brushes her off, which triggers Krystal into attacking her to prove her skills. Not even phased enough to resort to using her suit, Samus shows Krystal why she is known as the best bounty hunter in the galaxy, and warns her that if she isn't fully prepared to endure training under the harshest, most grueling conditions and demands imaginable, it could end up claiming her life...

Kid Icarus/Kid Icarus Uprising: Several years ago, a shipment of Metroids broke loose in the Space Pirate base set up on Angel World. After having adapted to the world's climate, they have since evolved into the sub-species known as Komaydos.

Present
Samus Aran is the most feared bounty hunter in the galaxy and was once the most elite soldier in the fighting force of the Galactic Federation during their conflict with the malicious Space Pirates. After exposing a major Federation conspiracy to resurrect her old enemies, the life-sucking Metroids, Samus was hunted all over the galaxy by the Federation's best until she was eventually cornered and captured near the borders of known space by the elite Federation_Force mech squad, who had--unknown to her--actually been four clones of Samus designed to hunt her down if she ever went rogue. She was forced to endure months of agonizing torture as the Federation's top scientists, determined to find out all they could about her encounters with the Metroids' main prey--the X-Parasites--aboard the SR-388 research station, treated her as nothing more than a living test subject... Through these tests they discovered that not only did the Metroid DNA implanted inside Samus to initially combat the X successfully merge with the DNA of her X look-alike, the SA-X, but the combination of X, Metroid, and Chozo DNA inside Samus had caused significant changes to her body's physiology! She could now suck the life out of organisms through skin contact, much like the X and Metroids did with their prey! She also had the ability to alter her appearance, much like the X's power to mimic their hosts, though only by a small degree like hair, eye, and even skin color. It's only after absorbing a person's life force that she can actually mimic that person for a short amount of time, right down to their memories. Her body also had a new reproductive organ in a slit-like sheath that had grown just above her vagina, and this discovery also led to an even more shocking revelation...

Samus was pregnant...

The Federation scientific community was abuzz with speculation as to what this could mean! As far as they knew, Samus did not have any relations with any man or woman, human or alien, so they immediately theorized that something in the merger of DNA inside her triggered this sudden pregnancy! What would her offspring be??? Human??? Metroid??? X??? Chozo??? Another hybrid like her???

The answer came only a few months after the discovery, when Samus--her stomach swollen and bloated--gave birth to half a dozen small round eggs! The scientists knew them to be Metroid eggs from their files, but these looked slightly different...They left Samus restrained and alone while they turned their attention to her children, which they soon dubbed "X-Metroids". The X-Metroids would, of course, drain the life force of their prey, just like their original separate forms, but they possessed strengths of both species that counteracted their known weaknesses. X-Metroids possessed a strong resistance to ice, which was the main weakness of the original Metroids. X-Metroids are also capable of adapting to any environment, much like the X-Parasites, and can even understand languages after absorbing the information from a being's life force. X-Metroids also possess the hive mentality of the original Metroids, and maintain a strong telepathic link with their queen...

And being the only one that could be classified as the first X-Metroid "queen", Samus was left to feel every poke, prod, cut, burn, shock, and dissection of her children, and with every surge of telepathic pain she endured, her hatred for the Federation grew even more... As her rage grew, so did her resolve to free herself from her bonds... She had been studying every detail to formulate a plan to escape her captivity, and now her children needed their mother... She wasn't just going to break out; she was going to show the Federation the full price of betraying her...

When her children felt their mother had broken free, they instantly became more aggressive in their attempts to escape their confinements... As Samus went to reclaim her Zero Suit from the facility's armory, only one single thought was being sent to her children... She didn't care why she was thinking this, or what anyone else would see of her for demanding such a thing; all she cared about was the fact that the Federation had hurt her, and they needed to suffer...

"Kill them all..."

Soon the facility was in chaos, as the X-Metroids burst out of their containment areas and began feeding on the helpless scientists and troopers, allowing Samus to retrieve her suit and reunite herself with her deadly arsenal. She then called all of her children to her, letting them feed on some of her own energy, which would allow them to take on the form of her in her Power Suit! Soon the Federation forces were faced with Samus' entire squad of SA-Xs, which laid the station to waste and killed anyone in their path!

Samus found her gunship in the Federation impound dock and blasted her way out of the hangar, instructing her children to destroy the reactor of the station and escape if they could. A massive explosion lit up the void of space as Samus propelled her ship into hyperspace; where to, even she didn't know, but someplace far from the Federation...

Samus Aran is still the most feared bounty hunter in the galaxy, but now she's got a hefty price on her own head from the Federation... It doesn't bother her, though; if anything, she's welcome to anyone willing to test their luck at collecting her trillion-credit bounty!

Even in the midst of her new life as both hunter and hunted, she can't ignore her maternal duties as the "Queen of the X-Metroids", as most bounty hunters know her as nowadays... Perhaps it has to do with her feelings towards the first infant Metroid she had grown attached to, but she feels it's her duty to nurture the X-Metroids, no matter how dangerous they are... The new reproductive organ she has grown is her primary means of breeding her children. The shaft for pushing her eggs into a potential incubator is stored in her sheath just above her sex. She can give birth from her normal womb too, but there's nothing more satisfying than breeding her target with X-Metroid eggs, knowing that they're going to drain them from the inside out when the eggs finally hatch...

Samus shares a telepathic link with her children no matter how far away from her they are. She can feel what they feel, see what they see, hear what they hear, etc. She can also give them instructions no matter where they are separate from her, and while she is somewhat lenient on what her children feed on, she does have a few rules they all need to follow no matter what, such as not draining civilians without permission from Samus herself.

And yes, Samus does love playing with her children, especially when she has a group of them transform into herself for a nice selfcest foursome...

DNA
Samus has come into contact with a wide variety of species in her travels, and some of these encounters have resulted in various different kinds of alien DNA getting bound to her genetic structure.

Human--Base DNA.
Chozo--Injected into her by her Chozo rescuers to save her life after the Space Pirate attack on Earth Colony K-2L. Allows her to utilize Chozo technology, including her power suit.
Phazon--Acquired from prolonged exposure to the Phazon Suit on Tallon IV; nearly proved fatal to her before being rendered dormant by the destruction of the living planet Phaaze. In its dormant state, it now acts as a stabilizer for all the other alien genetic material that has linked with Samus, meaning it's the main reason she hasn't been torn apart from the inside.
Alimbic--Acquired from the Alimbic artifacts Samus used to vanquish the Gorea. Allows Samus to travel through otherwise dangerous dimensional rifts.
Luminoth--Acquired from the Luminoth energy transfer module that bound itself with Samus on Aether and helped her to steal the Luminoth's energy back from the Ing. Allows Samus to increase her strength by taking in solar energy.
Ing--Acquired from the initial ambush by the Ing when Samus entered the Dark World, when she was stripped of her abilities. Gives her a resistance to atmospheres resembling Dark Aether.
Bion--Acquired after being captured by the Space Pirates in the Bermuda system and experimented on using the pirates' newfound size augmentation technology. Allows Samus to alter her size at will.
Metroid--Acquired from the Metroid hatchling that sacrificed itself to save Samus from Mother Brain on Zebes. The hatchling's DNA was injected into her to save her from her first encounter with the X-Parasites, which would have proven fatal.
X--Acquired from the SA-X that willingly allowed Samus to absorb it so she could defeat the Omega Metroid aboard the SR-388 research station. Allows Samus to make slight alterations to her appearance, and absorb an organism's life force and memories through skin contact to enable her to mimic that organism for a short period of time.
