Humanity thought they could domesticate the common Yoshi. They were wrong.

Their appetites insatiable and unaffordable to most households, most Yoshis inevitably turned on their owners, devouring families and turning them into their own young. In just under a year entire cities fell to their numbers, and by the next, they were the dominant species of the planet. Once happy, bustling city squares became derelict husks, occupied only by the once-human creatures using their remains as nests.

Most sentient life now dwells in the Yoshi ranks, humanity and its anthropomorphic counterparts reduced to hiding and wandering nomadically and praying they can live to see the next day in their own body... because when there's hordes of voracious creatures everywhere you go, it's not a question of if you'll survive, but how long it takes for them to find you, and swallow you whole...
