Xaviere was born into a long family tree of Eevee that evolved solely into Sylveon, whose family tradition was to evolve after learning to love themselves. Always being somewhat of an outcast, Xaviere was turning out to be a late evolver, his countless problems in school and lack of social life eating away at mind. Of course, none of this was truly his fault. A nefarious gang known only as Team Equilibrium invaded his peaceful hometown of Askara back when he was still an Eevee, with the intent to tinker with the genetic code of anyone they could get their hands on. Xaviere was just another of their little projects. While walking home one night, he was ambushed by a pair of grunts who decided to inject him with an experimental syrum, forcing a new, dark typing onto him which his body was never meant to handle. The secondary typing slowly drove him to his isolative behavior, with Kaimalie and Anvil being the only friends he'd ever managed to make, and his deep friendship with the Feebas eventually led to his evolution into an Umbreon, a blight on his family heritage. Of course, that alone wasn't enough. With his secondary dark typing and his now primary dark typing, Xaviere became an anomaly; the first, and potentially only dark/dark Pokemon to ever exist. This abomination of a typing drove him deeper into depression, clouding his mind with negative thoughts and making all of his weaknesses twice as effective, with little to gain in return. Now he spends most of his time trying to defend his hometown from Equilibrium to the best of his ability, to ensure no one else suffers a similar fate that now plagues his life.
