Sabrina_Marie came to me asking to bring a suit against her neighbors so I foolishly followed her to her home and my grave. She fooled me into thinking she wanted to fool around and mix business and pleasure, but it was only to dissolve me in her stomach and add me to her body. All my years of training, school and effort didn't even give her a new cup size. And now I'm dead.
The judicial system was filled with frivolous lawsuits and bad plea deals being contested in 2015. The average time to trial was becoming staggering at 36 months, Jails were overcrowded with those unable to make bail. To top it off the lawyer profession was saturated with graduates. The US congress had to do something or faith in the legal system would be destroyed for a very long time and public unrest would reign in the streets.
The Frivolity Punishment Act was passed that year.
The system was changed forever, some say for the worse, others were pleased with the new rules. One thing was for sure, there wasn't any more waiting time to have a trial, and the saturation in the field dried up near completely.
Under the new rules the plaintiff, defendants and their standing attorney or team of lawyers were directly responsible for the court costs and time. If their case or stance was found to be in any way frivolous after losing the case all parties would be committed to a period of enslavement the terms of which were up to the opposing side. Life enslavement or even death were not restricted.
Once people started being cooked as dinner by the neighbors they were trying to sue for slippery sidewalks frivolous lawsuits ended almost completely. That and attorneys willing to take up those cases dropped off the face of the earth. There were a few who were either reckless or forced into the practice however...
Judy's Bio
Judy wasn't a rich person 10 years back, her mother had managed to take credit cards out in her name ruining her financial standings before croaking of an overdose. Without ever knowing who her father was Judy has always been in a rough patch. Her cunning however has served her well, she learned to navigate school just as well as she learned to avoid her mother's habits. She couldn't avoid learning more than she would rather have known about the streets and crime however.
Her mom croaked when she was 16 leaving her nothing but an angry dealer still wanting what he was owed. Luckily dealers can't really touch you when you're living in a foster home. When she got out though she quickly found she couldn't get a loan *anywhere* she was on her own with an acceptance letter to Columbia... That's when the dealer approached her looking to collect again violently if necessary. Judy's cunning mind managed to whip up a deal he would likely not refuse however. She made a deal to sell his product on campus, he would be too obvious, but her... As a student she could move in and out unnoticed and unsuspected. He agreed and Judy got her schooling.
That was 10 years ago. The dealing just about broke even with what her tuition costed, her and the dealer made another agreement for her to give him a good sum of her salary for "a while" to make up for it, while also giving him the inside story on offenders who might be looking for a fix.
If it was her choice she wouldn't take the cases that she does, its dangerous, but not paying a dealer is just about as bad a prospect, he might end up whoring her out if she didn't and perhaps being dead or enslaved as a maid or something was better than that kind of life.
