A Varactyl is a predatory creature that prefers to dwell in areas where other organisms can't really find purchase. Although they are rather large, standing at four meters and 15 meters long, Varactyl's can use the suction cup pads on their feet to stick to walls, and are able to either hand upside down or on the sides of walls. They prefer to dine on fish and small mammals, but from time to time they have been known to eat larger prey. They can run twice as fast as a horse, and are capable of tearing through bone or metal with its beak. These creatures can also be tamed as mounts, which is the only reason the
Hunters_Guild has any real interest in them. Know that if a quest mentions a Varactyl, it will probably be a capture quest.
