History:

A long time ago, Adeline was a bright-eyed young paladin chosen to bear her order's legendary sword and battle evil wherever it flourished. The young knight quickly garnered a reputation for her cheerful demeanor and eagerness to help those in need and as word spread, her popularity grew. Then, Adeline and her sacred sword abruptly disappeared seemingly never to be seen again. For a time, rumors raged out of control and investigations were held but when they yielded no results year after year, the famous knight and her legendary blade faded from the public consciousness... Then a century or so later a woman bearing her name appeared as if from nowhere.

When this conniving serpent of a woman showed up in the kingdom of Erimdale nearly 40 years ago, there was something she saw in that sleepy little country that no one else seemed to. Quickly resolving to claim it for herself, she sought an audience with the king and before anyone knew it, the man and his wife were dead by the traveler's hand. After killing anyone who dared point their weapon at her, Adeline declared herself empress and after some "convincing" of the populace, she managed to scrounge up an army large enough to wage war with Erimdale's neighbors. Through some dirty tactics, Adeline's neighbors fell like dominos-- Their lands were seized and the nobility captured and awarded to her most loyal soldiers as slaves. Erimdale had its first taste of power and before long, Adeline had transformed the once-peaceful land into an empire as twisted and cruel as herself. Those with good in their hearts held out hope that time would end the cruel empress' reign, but decades later she looks no older than the day she arrived.

Personality:

As one might expect from a woman called a tyrant, Adeline is quite prickly at the best of times. She treats most people with cold indifference, their lives meaning little to her beyond how they may further her agenda. However, when angered, Adeline becomes almost a different person with a burning passion for tormenting her victims. When pushed, Adeline's creativity and appetite for sadism seem to know no bounds... As evil as she is, Adeline does have a small handful of positive features.

Few today would believe Adeline used to be a holy knight, but there's no denying fact... She doesn't like to talk about what set her on this path in the first place, but glimpses of her former self can be found. Despite Adeline's frequent abuses of power, no one would argue she works hard to keep her empire afloat-- frequently traveling to personally attend diplomatic meetings and often staying up late into the night sorting through paperwork. The wicked empress also has a well-known love for her family, treating her children and their friends with her own frosty brand of love and care.


Abilities:
Skill-Stealing: By fully or partially consuming someone's soul, Adeline gains access to certain skills the soul's owner possesses. Fast Healing: Pretty self-explanatory. (Gained from fully absorbing EricPotere, improved )
Curses: Adeline can place simple, but debilitating curses on enemies via physical contact. (partially absorbed from Ana_The_Unholy)
Ruby Power: Can form simple weapons from red energy (thanks to absorbing a small amount of energy from Strawberry_Swirl's ruby)
God-tier Magic: After consuming Rhea_The_Genie's soul, Adeline can conjure just about anything she desires into reality. There is a catch, however. Anything created lasts only a few fleeting minutes before returning to the nothingness from whence it came. Hasn't stopped the power from going to her head, however.
