tl;dwtr: Silver-haired/furred demifoxgirl rogue. Charming and cheeky with a penchant for sneaking delicious cookies into people's pockets. Has a pet
Displacer Beast named Kitt. Looks like the one in the picture, sans scales and with a more panther-like face.
At first glance, Telari appears to be a five foot six human, albeit with unusual silver hair, worn as face-framing bangs with a long ponytail in the back (Which she wears up in a bun under her hood while sneaking about), and large, silky silver-furred ears with a silky silver-furred tail. Her build is lithe, a light and nimble frame that particularly conveys her beauty and feminine grace, and shows well the results of her rigorous training. Her skin is soft and pale with cool undertones, likely stemming from her life having been mostly indoors or outside at night. Her almond-shaped eyes are also unusual for a Hengeyokai, as well as her pupils being a human round shape as opposed to the usual slitted animalistic shape, with sapphire blue irises. With fairly generic ‘pretty’’ facial features, she would seem to be just another pretty girl in a crowd, were it not for her striking fox ears and tail. Her smile is another feature that rather stands out, being a quirky lopsided sort of smile that rather suits her somewhat mischievous nature.
She typically wears a durable cloth black long-sleeved tunic and durable black trousers, both close-fitting to minimize possible snags, with double-stitched dark grey leather reinforcement in high-wear spots. Her tunic and belt pouch have ample pocket space for the tools of her trade: lockpicks, pitons, a clasping loop that holds a small hammer, and pouches for ball bearings and caltrops. She also wears sturdy leather boots and light leather gloves that prioritize dexterity over durability, which she has to replace frequently. Additionally, her clothing has sheathes sewn into it for nine daggers, one for each of the nine tails of the kitsune goddess of mischief and luck that she unofficially worships, in an “Oh goddess, please don’t let me get caught in this house” sort of way. Her tunic has a hole cut in it for her tail, and she wears a dark grey peaked leather hood with slits for her ears to poke out. She tried hiding them before, and found that having them under a hood makes it far too hard for her to hear.
She's got a peculiar agenda, for a rogue. She calls it 'putpocketing'. Rather than focusing on stealing from people, she focuses on sneaking neatly-packaged cookies into their pockets. Each cookie's package has a note on it, telling the recipient to "Please enjoy this delicious cookie, courtesy of The Silver Fox". The cookies are totally normal cookies; freshly-baked chocolate chip, of a slightly larger-than-usual size, and incredibly delicious; they're made from a nations-famous recipe, which only she and one other person know. Not poisoned or anything silly like that. Just normal, delicious cookies.
Why does she do this? It's a long story, going wayyy back. Well, not all that far back. But far enough. She used to be a slave, see, to a wealthy Elven duke. He essentially treated her as a pet, but the sort that you put on display to show off your power, not the sort you cherish and adore. She wasn't uncared for; after all, it wouldn't do if his prize pet's fur was mangy or matted, or mere skin and bones, so she was certainly cared for. Still, living daily life being constantly told you're not even a person, to sit and obey what you're told, can have a toll after awhile. But what does this have to do with cookies, you ask? Well, her one beacon of hope during her time as a slave was the kindly head cook, who had been there since before Telari was born. She took a particular sort of pity on Telari, seeing the mental abuse the foxgirl was put under, and had Telari help out in the kitchen when she didn't have to be at her master's side, so she could at least feel 'human'. This woman was particularly famous for her chocolate chip cookies, which Telari came to adore. And then finally, one day, the woman helped Telari escape her master's mansion. Telari has never been able to see her since, but she shares her fond memories of the woman and her cookies by sharing cookies with the world.
Why didn't she just open a bakery, you ask? As an escaped slave, she hardly had the money to do so, nor the know-how; she hasn't exactly received a proper education. After escaping, she had to learn how to survive on the streets, since nobody would offer her honest work. She ended up being taken in by the city's unofficial guild of thieves; a rather rough bunch, but honest enough, and close to the only family they knew: eachother.
