When the "sound" of a place disappears, it is generally a warning sign of some creature about to attack or something "bad" is about to happen. Of course, once it happens and the event is done with, the sound comes back. This skill is generally learned. the one thing about this "skill" thou, is that most adventurers notice the sound disappearing from an area. Most will not even notice the void of ambient sound if the environment naturally doesn't have much "sound"

Another thing that has never been written down by mortal hands is the environment of a Lake Siren. Why is this? The power of a lake siren is absolute when it comes to mortals. It does not matter how powerful a wizard or a warrior you maybe. It does not matter that you have the blood of some sort of god or goddess in you. If any amount of mortal blood runs thou your veins, the song of a Lake Siren will take you, thus no mortal has ever survived an encounter by a Lake Siren, thus no one has ever been able to write about one.

So, a bit a warning for those questing and adventuring near fresh water lakes. The area is claim, the songs of the birds too far away to hear, be wary. If you notice the sounds of the treeline becoming more and more quite, it's nature telling you that you are entering a zone of death. If you must continue, keep an eye on the ground. Look for bleached bones of animals.. mortals and the like hidden under the grass the dirt itself. all of these are warning signs. Most importantly, If you ever are walking along the bank of a lake and you see a lovely woman.
