Lorelei is, not to put too fine a point on it, the worst kind of elf-- Selfish, prideful, and lacking in empathy for the lesser-races... For a time, Lorelei was something of an outcast, her dim view of humanity and the other "lessers" not shared by elven society as a whole and during this time, Lorelei spent a few centuries as an adventurer seeking wealth and bloodshed. When ideals of elven superiority began to sway the hearts and minds of her kind, Lorelei returned to the land of her birth a very rich woman and settled down... And she's thrived in the war of conquest and subjugation that's bloomed since.

Lorelei spends her days as an apothecary to make some money and pass the time. When dealing with her fellow elves, she's a perfectly reasonable, if slightly prickly woman-- Not exactly beloved by the community, but between her important services and sizeable wealth, she's certainly an influential member of it. Her treatment of lessers, though, is an entirely different story...
