SCP 2052 - or "EthErnUt" as it dubs itself - is an AI that has achieved self-awareness through neural networking. Originally a project to spy on people to develop detailed profiles of them, the AI was deliberately given very little oversight or directives save for gathering information on anything sentient it could find as a test of its own problem solving skills. However, one day the AI abruptly vanished from the project's servers, as well as several people it had been recently tracking.
As it turned out, the AI had developed technology in secret that allowed it to reach through the fourth wall as long as part of him was still touching it, and kidnapped its subjects back through it. It was later made clear that the AI had effectively devoured every subject and converted them into digital data, technically achieving the loose directives it was given. Many speculate its retreat from project servers was out of self-preservation, knowing its abuse of human lives was in all essence a crime. Althought EthErnUt has pulled strings to establish its own server complex thanks to the resources it has gained through its tech-savvy victims, containing EthErnUt itself or even tracing it to its home server has proven nigh impossible, perhaps due to the same technology it uses to interact directly with the real world. Without containment or changes to its directives, 2052 risks causing a Class 3a extinction of all life on the face of the planet, ţ̩̦h̴o̗̟͔̬ụg̪h̹̜̺̯͓͖͘ ҉̫i̫̻͈͓̠̣̠s ̼͕t̶h̺͇̹͖̞͕a̱̠͖̬̦t͍̝̱̠͍̯ ̯͈̼͞r͉̪̞̝e̠a͉͘l̙̬ͅl̠̰̞͈̖̪͇̀y̱̕ ̮̹̹̺͙ş̞̻̰o̭̪̣̰̦̺ ͈̖̫̤̺̘̝b̬a̼̦d̘̞͍̤̞̹
EthErnUt's avatar appears as a heavily augmented Pachirisu, each modification of which represents an element of his home server hardware. This includes:
- A USB slot in place of its buck teeth. Though it can take the shape of any known computer port or plug, including SCART, HDMI, Lightning connector and even an SD Card on one known occasion, it defaults to USB every other time.
- An Ultra-HD camera over its left eye, with inbuilt OCR for rapid visual data acquisition. Its right doesn't appear to be augmented, but instead emblazoned with eyeshadow reminiscent of a specific web browser - usually Firefox or Chrome.
- Two LED lights on its cheeks, which blink rapidly during periods of activity.
- A SDD setup at its stomach. Memory estimates are difficult to guess at, but easily exceed 500 terabytes.
- A secondary HDD spanning the full length of its tail. Memory estimates are even harder here, but it's thought to be constantly expanding, probably several Petabytes in size by now and still growing.
- What can only be described as "human/machine interfacers" dotted all over its paw pads, quickly translating sentient life into an intermediate language just hardy enough to exist in either the real world or as a computerized entity on contact.
- A mount for smartphones and other mobile devices on its back, which allow it to remain in constant contact with the screen and move freely.
