At Maru’s only to fulfill her school’s community service requirement, Roha is one of the cafe's youngest maids and by far the least enthusiastic. Though pleasant enough when awake, those moments are few and far between: while she insists that she gets a full night’s sleep, the extent of her constant exhaustion baffles logic, seemingly unaffected by even the blackest coffee — and though she’s been warned repeatedly not to fall asleep on the job, Roha remains a rare sight front-of-house, much more likely to be catching a few Zs in some corner of the cafe than bussing tables (to the chagrin of her coworkers). Having long since given up on rousing “Sleeping Beauty,” the other maids have taken to double-booking her shifts so that no one finds themselves alone on the floor while she naps.

With that said, she’s young enough that no one seems able to stay mad at her for very long. No one has gotten hurt because of her absences (yet), and the other maids are more concerned about keeping her out of trouble with the customers than having her work properly, a goal towards which her narcolepsy seems well suited. In fact, although they gripe, most of her coworkers have taken it upon themselves to keep her alive until she’s completed her community service and can move on: happy endings are rare at Maru’s, and the prospect of one on the horizon is enough to excuse almost any amount of on-shift naps.
