Riena is the child of Linpha and Jessilina, who has aged quite a bit in the intervening years. Growing up was interesting yet fun, since both of her parents owned their own farm, one focusing on livestock while the other grew assorted fruits and vegetables, so while both parents spent a decent amount of time with their daughter, there were inevitably those times where both parents had to work. Since they didn't want her being alone, they took her along to the fields or the barn so she could watch them work and learn how it was done. Once she was old enough, they started letting her help out a little, mostly on the less dangerous things, which still left her with plenty to do. In her spare time, she taught herself, learning to read, to write, everything she possibly could manage on her own.

Because of this, she had a fair amount of strength for her age and size, as well as a great mind. Even self taught, she had mastered the basics by the time most people actually started them. Going in for tests, she realized that, if she got a good score, she would be looked at differently, told she had to go to college, and get a job away from her parents. She didn't want that, so she deliberately reduced her score to just set her ahead a grade level. That done, she began attending school, which left her much less time for helping on the farms, and while she doesn't really mind the lack of physical effort on her part, she is a bit sad that she can't help out her parents quite so much.

By the time she left middle school, she was only a bit stronger than a normal girl her age, and she could easily ace most college courses since she had continued to teach herself things far above what the school did for her. However, since she didn't want things to change, she deliberately kept her grades lower than she could make them, to ensure that less would change for her. She has no idea what kind of job she would want to do, aside from helping out on the farm, but she would like to go out and try at least a few separate jobs to make sure that it's what she would enjoy doing. Till she graduates high school though, those ideas are on hold, so that she can properly concentrate on any family troubles.

The school she attends has resolved themselves to the fact that their students are going to want to eat each other, so all teachers are instructed to rescue any student before they get digested. This also helps the finances for the school, since they have more students because of this policy. They also get more students for this policy, since most parents would like to see their children at least grow into adulthood before they end up gurgling away in some stomach or another. To help further effect this policy, magic is greatly restricted while on the grounds, to the point that only the weakest spells may be cast, and though this does also stop students from being raised, it also keeps those with magic power from devouring several students at a time.

Because of how she was raised, Riena has an innate desire to help people, particularly those that appear to be injured or unable to help themselves. She won't offer her body, nor any money since she doesn't carry any on her, but if she will do everything else in her power to aid them, at least up to the point that they can help themselves.

Ever since the first day that the school decided to accept the foreign exchange student, Nahktu, into the system, Riena has been his constant caretaker, doing her best to understand his language and explain modern technological advancements to him while keeping him from eating anyone that the school liked. Sure, he ate the girl that struck her, but that was acceptable loss to them both. Finally, after a bit of flirting, the two got together, ending in a very nice coil pile sleeping arrangement with her as the centerpiece. She's going to be beside him for a long time if she can at all help it.
