Myōga, who is one-of-a-kind of her species. Of course, on Earth, her species is unique enough all its own, being of an extra- terrestrial species. What sets her apart from the others of her kind (which are called Deoxys by earthlings) is that she was actually born on this little blue planet.

She is the offspring of two deoxys that had been marooned and injured on earth for four years. Her father, after his experience, didn't want anything to do with the planet. Her mother, on the other hand, had her damaged self (which appeared only as a green, crystaline egg) taken in by humans. At first, she hated them, but after coming into contact with a boy named Tory, she fell in love with the planet in the most endearing case of stockholm syndrome. After being instructed by their home-world to make Myōga, her mother funnelled in every ounce of love she had for the planet as she could when creating Myōga, in hopes that it would counteract the instructions to destroy the planet that her partner (Myōga's father) was undoubtedly embedding within her.

This was something that had never happened in all of the Deoxys recorded history; never before had a Deoxys intentionally tried to save a planet that had been put on the short-list for annihilation. After bonding to make Myōga, her mother telepathically warned the boy companion she'd made in her stay on Earth about what was to come, should Myōga's crystal be left unattended to.

Myōga grew up in a perfectly sealed box, learning all she could about Earth from Tory and his family. She, too, grew to love the planet she was created to destroy. She decided that, in lieu of destroying the planet, her job would be to protect it and thus took the name Myōga, which means divine protection. She wasn't exactly divine, but she was definitely this world's self- proclaimed protector from anything that would come.

Now, though, she's (mostly) free to roam about as she pleases, since she's officially physically mature by standard of Deoxys maturation rate (which is about six years to be physically matured). In her growth, she's mostly perfected her human disguise and is still extremely fascinated by experiencing things the way that Earthlings do.

The Deoxys are a mutated space virus that are (generally) a peaceful species. When a new planet pops up on their radar showing signs of civilised life, they send a scout to see if friendly relations can be made. They did this with earth, but the creature was captured by curious scientists that proceeded to poke and prod at the Deoxys, calling it a new breed of pokemon. They wanted to understand how it worked, where it came from. Wanted to know why none had ever seen it before. In their overzealous curiosity, the scientists accidentally killed it. The Deoxys home-planet didn't receive the distress signal until it was too late. Telepathically, they heard the pained cries of the deoxys as it panicked and died.

Myoga's parents were sent to figure out what, exactly, had happened to the scout. They were prepared to accept that maybe it was an accident, but poised to attack and annihilate the world if need be-- Deoxys did not tolerate planets that were aggressive towards their kind.

Unfortunately for her parents, though, there was a malfunction when the meteorite they were being transported in crash landed. One was heavily damaged and unable to assume a proper physical form, the other managed to take its body, but was promptly attacked by one of the denizens of the planet (what we know as a Rayquaza). What would become Myōga's father fought with the Rayquaza in order to survive and protect its partner (which would become Myōga's mother). Her father was defeated by a hyperbeam and forced to retreat back into its own crystal core.

Myōga's "mother" was trapped without the proper tools with which to fully heal the crystal that housed her life. On her home planet, a high powered laser is what was needed to properly repair the crystal nucleus. The humans had managed to build a laser potentially capable of restoring her nucleus and allowing her to assume physical form once more, but unfortunately they didn't have enough power to properly heal her. This laser also took four years to build, which meant that this Deoxys was trapped here and unable to communicate with her partner (wherever he may have been, since it was clear he was hurt also, or he'd have probably been sending out attempts at communication with her) or their home. Instead, Myōga's mother was only left with the company of the humans she detested.

Before the construction of the laser, Myōga's mother mourned for what she perceived to be her eternal imprisonment in what she learnt the humans called a "crystal egg." Several times, she attempted to reach out to these people for help, but was only able to extend a small, nebulous green mist similar to what the Deoxys virus offspring were born as. This iridescent cloud was harmless in such a small quantity. The only thing that noticed her on the godforsaken rock she'd call her prison to notice her was a little boy-- child she recognised from her graceless landing.

Begrudgingly, Myōga's mother "socialised" with this boy. Through him, she learned his language and then came to understand more about both the child and the planet as a whole. The boy's gentle and timid temperament was something she came to love over the four years she lay dormant. The boy (Tory, he was called) came to call her 'Pickles' because of her green colour. It took quite some time before she realised that she had been named like a pet after something as silly as human food.

It was four years before "Pickles" was regenerated slightly by the human-built laser. The resulting beam, again, was not strong enough to allow her to restore herself, but it did allow her to finally begin the process of regenerating and also let her call out to her partner telekinetically, who she learned had also been seriously injured and unable to make contact with their home. Her slight healing gave the other Deoxys enough of a mental boost to regenerate and call back to their home-world, which instructed him to retrieve his partner and finally lay waste to the planet by reproducing as a last resort. (A newly-born Deoxys is unable to manifest a "solid" physical form and instead is a large mist-- much like the nebulous light cloud that "Pickles" was forced to take on whilst damaged. This is where Deoxys's status as a virus stems-- their offspring are sometimes sent to planets that are deemed "too dangerous" for peaceful coexistance to attempt to wipe out the enemy threat.) But his quest to find his partner was interrupted not only by the over-teched city giving off too much radiation for the Deoxys to see, but also the attacks by Rayquaza and by the humans rebelling and obstinantly ruining his vision.

With the help of Pikachu, Plusel, and Minun, the humans were eventually able to charge the laser with enough power to finally fix Pickles, who wanted to stop all of the fighting and show her partner that the world wasn't all bad. So she teamed up with the humans in order to save their world from the threat they didn't even know existed. She was, eventually, successful in stopping the fight between her partner and the Rayquaza, but was unable to convince him to leave the planet be. So, when they were secretly sentencing the entire planet to its demise, during the process, Myōga's mother submitted as many fond memories of the planet as she was able, hoping it would be enough to counteract the obligation to ruin the planet that her partner was funnelling into their offspring. The two then left the planet after putting on what appeared to be a beautiful light-show, but what was actually just their species' mating ritual. Telekinetically, Myōga's mother connected with Tory to inform him of what had happened, told him that he needed to find the seed of their soon-to-be-born offspring and contain it somehow so that the virus could not infect the entire planet. The two invading Deoxys then followed their orders and left the planet to its alleged ruin.

And so that finally brings us to Myōga, who spent the next six years trapped in a perfectly sealed room in Tory's father's lab. The boy visited her every day for as long as he could. He read to her, told her stories about his day, did with her what he had done with her mother. Eventually, once the core was able to manipulate its molecules enough to take a real physical body instead of only being able to omit the toxic nebula that was the Deoxys Virus, she was able to walk free. It took five years for her to gain the ability to form a complete body, and another year after that to perfect maintaining this form at all times. Though the Deoxys Cloud is most potent within the first four years of life, it can still be deadly to any life form other than itself and possibly one other branch of space virus. Because of this, Myōga wasn't allowed out of her chambre until she had fully mastered the "art" of her natural form. Of course, she constantly worked to make herself appear more like her surrogate care-taker, Tory. While she was unable to perfectly mimic a human body, she did extremely well.

Growing up on Earth with her mother's memories paired with the sense of obligation her father sent to her left Myōga with a nigh-impossible decision to make. A decision that would mean whether or not she'd be able to ever go "home" again or not... Wherever that "home" may end up being. Of course, it was a decision between the place she'd known and grown to love in her short life-- a place that she'd been able to experience first-hand paired with inherited memories-- and the place she only knew from the memories of her parents (Memories of a world where everyone was practically the same; where there were few surprises and little chance to be "unique" or to be one's own 'person'). In the end, though it was hard, of course Myōga chose Earth; chose freedom and autonomy and individuality. She chose love.

With that choice made, there was only one thing left to do, begin learning as much as she could about the earth so that she could better protect it from outside threats. To start, she studied the "dominant" life-forms-- the humans. With the help of Tory, she mastered language and living life the "Earth" way. Still, after becoming so accustomed to Earth and everything that it is, the defector Deoxys sometimes feels out of place. She associates this with the pull that her "father's" genetic memory has on her mind. She would never dream of betraying the place she's come to call her home, but that doesn't mean she never feels like she doesn't quite belong here...
