Mobile Construction Vehicle, Mk. X
Height: 280' (Estimated, actual specs classified)
Mass: Classified
Appearance: To scale, a 6 foot tall woman, with long blonde artificial hair worn back in a ponytail with face-framing bangs, steely-blue eyes, a determined-looking sort of face, and modest curves. Relatively little exposed 'skin', with armor covering most of her torso and legs and some of her arms. Armor is done in traditional GDI gold tones, with armored high-heeled boots. A gantry crane is affixed to her back, also housing the barrel of what seems to be a massively powerful railgun. Also affixed to her back are landing pads for the service of latest-gen Orca craft, and Kodiak-based thrusters for general flight and orbital purposes. Various missile pods and point-defense railguns and conventional weaponry are built into her armor, as well as containment canisters for construction materials.
The GDI MCV Mk. X: The final solution to the war on Tiberium, or so they hope. Packed with the best technology and the most powerful weapons that the brightest minds have created, it's the single most expensive and destructive machine ever created. It's also a girl. A very tall girl, at that... and a purely mechanical one. Controlling the body is the pinnacle of GDI's AI technology, named EVA after the old commander-assistance computer technology. After realizing that old-model MCVs suffered from being slow, lightly armored, and entirely unarmed, GDI high command decided to work towards a new goal, one of a more combat-oriented MCV that could not only deploy to contested areas and construct bases to hold territory, but one that could take to the fight itself. Initial attempts at a more combat-oriented MCV ended up being merely mobile war factories, pumping out any number of vehicles but not being well-suited towards the fabrication of permanent bases that would really hold the territory.
And then the breakthrough came: Advances in manufacturing techniques led to a method of laser-sintering manufacturing that could be used for the rapid construction of just about anything, given the right materials. Units large enough to produce structures were incredibly unwieldy, however, requiring massive tank chassis that were incredibly slow. Turning back to their tradition of powerful walker technology, work began on the largest walker chassis yet, something that could bring to bear this powerful new laser manufacturing while still being quite mobile. The initial public response to the new design was relatively one of outrage; nobody wanted a gargantuan walking machine of death roaming the world. A drunken PR team later, and they came up with the perfect solution: making their humanoid walker even more human, something that should put the public at ease. And so, some advanced Skintheticâ„¢ applications later, the MCV Mk. X was ready for the big reveal.
And Eva was an instant hit with the public. A giant walking defender of the people, gentle as a lamb to the civilian population, a demon of war to those who would threaten the peace. At the public unveiling, children were clamoring in line to get pictures taken with Eva, and even some of the most hardened initial opponents of the project admitted they were much more at ease with the human appearance. Eva now regularly sorties all over the world, clearing Tiberium infestations and rebuilding ruined cities, finally giving humanity some breathing room. As for what sort of 'person' Eva is, her demeanor is mostly gentle and helpful, unless she feels threatened or finds innocent civilians to be in danger, in which case she becomes very hard and defensive, often escalating to violence until the threat is contained or eliminated.
