On the surface, Lillia Soleil seems like an immature, idealistic girl barely old enough to even have what most would dub 'combat experience'. A bit naive, uncertain, yet cheery, as well. ...But that would be a mistake to think. Mostly because almost none of that is true (except her cheer).
Lillia is actually wise, pragmatically realistic, almost world-weary with how well she knows how things work, and
eminently experienced in the art of battle. But she still looks like she's barely at the end of her development, only beginning to move out of childhood. What gives? ...It's the secret of her life that she tries hard to conceal, for others fear those that defy nature (if they don't instead greedily covet the secret of that defiance).
Lillia is an Esper, one of a group of maybe a few hundred humans, elves, beastfolk, and other sentients from around the world that is united by a few traits. First, they possess a Crystal either somewhere on a hand, or on their forehead - one can often tell Espers by conspicuous glove or headwear use - though even then one has to know about them first. Secondly, they are rendered immortal by the Crystal, immune to mundane disease and infirmities of the body, as well as frozen at the physical age the Crystal unveiled itself to them at. Thirdly, the Crystal grants them supernatural powers or preternatural martial skill, often either more masterful incarnations of known arts, or esoteric abilities undreamt of by most mages. Espers jealously protect their nature from others for a number of reasons, even if there have been a few times that the world owes its salvation to them - knowing there are immortal superheroes (for all intents and purposes) out there could seriously destablize society, and many fear magical and powerful beings to begin with.
Lillia herself is among the eldest of Espers, having lived to the ripe age of 4852 years by the time that she'd be a contemporary of
Vale_Karsevair or the
Adventure_Party. She has seen ancient wondrous societies, dark ages, times of war, times of dire peril... So much history, that the world has sometimes even forgotten. She is literate in languages most of the world has forgotten, experienced in fighting styles millennia out of date or as new as the current decade... Lillia is an eminent scholar, though she specializes in history and war.
Powers-wise, her Crystal grants Lillia the title of 'Geometer', a master archer who bends the curvature of space to perform trick shots, achieve superior mobility, and divert enemy attacks. She also knows some elementary magic like weak curative spells or elemental-arrow spells, but they're fairly simplistic. Finally, she also has a small handful of magic items she's accumulated - a bow that fires arrows of searing divine light when she awakens its spirit (allowing it also to sometimes even fire itself on her behalf), a magical longsword that can be thrown and then returns to her hand, a few charms and pieces of jewelry with their own properties... and the Veil of Lies, which allows her to impersonate any other human or humanoid being, even changing outfit to match.
Lillia normally masquerades as... /someone/. She has forgotten, honestly, more trades than anyone has ever known, even if her specialty is historical scholarship and tactics. In the time her age is cited for, she's masquerading as Otomo Rina (Japanese order of course), a foreign-born novice archer and huntress. But if someone were to reveal her true nature, or if she felt forced to tip her hand due to the situation, they'd encounter a very different person, whose magical powers are strange and intimidating, and may even reveal hidden depths, like the pocket space full of her self-written library...
...Due to her immortality, though, Lillia can also be played in a modern setting, where she will by and large hide most of her 'adventurey' gear to try to blend in.
