Vale_Karsevair

(( Intended for use alongside the Adventure_Party, but can also be standalone in fantasy settings! I AM NOT THE ACTUAL PLAYER OF Adventure_Party!!!!!!))

Vale is an elf of the ripe adolescent age of 118, hailing from the distant tropical country of Iruval. Unlike many elven nations, Iruval is actually very advanced, having developed a unique form of magitech that much of their people rely on every day, and gives them the ability to form a very sophisticated society. As such, Vale is on some levels far removed from the world of peasants and nobles, instead being a roughly middle-class "Waysage", the Iruvan term for a traveling scholar.

Vale is working on what would approximate a graduate program at her university in Iruval's capital of Devron, following an impressive dual-study program of magitech engineering and archaeology. As such, though, the elf is now venturing out of her isolated, xenophobic country in search of adventure...

But, Vale is a bit naive at times, literally xenophobic at other times (As in to say, rather than /hating/ foreigners, she's /afraid/ of them)... and sometimes far too curious for her own good. But she's also a competent engineer, has actually-good knowledge of ancient cultures in the world outside of her homeland, and something approximating quick wit.

-Geomancy-

Vale's primary magic is geomancy, the manipulation of the earth's energy. With it, any terrain she's roughly in contact with or surrounded by can be manipulated by her - weakly without tools, but powerfully with her weapon on-hand. The stronger that terrain's influence is, the more control Vale has over it.

What this /means/, is that, say... Vale will usually be able to manipulate the air, water, or earth she's in contact with... but in a cave, her power over stone increases, in a forest or grassland or (for best effect) jungle she can control the local plantlife slightly (...unless it's sentient), and if she's in midair or underwater, she gains much more power over air and water than she had before.

In addition, Vale has a limited ability to convert forms of geomantic energy across each other, or render them into something remotely resembling 'pure' magical essence. This is the underpinning of Iruvan technology, and thus features heavily in the elf's gadgetry.

-Aveniol-

Vale's name for her primary weapon system. It takes the form of a pair of objects - a glove with golden circuits embedded into its back, and a two-tined golden wand attached to one handle for the other hand. The wand can focus and direct geomantic energy like a conductor's baton... or it can directly channel that energy into a brilliant cascade of light and magical fury that allows it to burn through her targets, making it a quasi-energy-blade. The glove, however, is used in conjunction with the 'conducting' feature of the wand... and can manifest geomantic energy to act as a sort of force-shield.

-Geotech-

Vale may have various other little inventions or gadgets she's made for herself on-hand. These all either aid in manipulating the terrain, or use the earth's energy to power an otherwise-mundane mechanism, for the most part.
