A thousand years ago, there was more than the fear of drowning that accompanied the known horrors of being out at sea. The very concept of sea monsters and harsh weather as the told expectations for a cruise. But one myth still echoes in whispered voices between pirates and sailors of the seas, to the tale of Lady Darkwater ( A mispronunciation of her name that simply took hold. Riles her to no end. ) and her cruel spells, murderous temper, and habit of kidnap or feeding on overboard victims.

No one from the surface world or beneath is truly certain to why a member of the normally reclusive and rare-seen Octopaliken would be so violent, aggressive, and of frequent occurrence. Minor historical mentions had described her as formerly a small, far from unique member of her race... But at some point, she came from hiding at a drastic scale! Nearly 11 ft. from base of her body to tip of her head, and another 22 ft. from her base to the tips of her numerous tentacles. Bulk mass compiled her body, but never confused for 'overweight'. Those that had lived through her aggressions will quickly attest that all of that supposed blubber is nothing but solid, powerful muscle! Able to crush small boulders within the grasp of her tentacles, to swiftly dart through the waters and chase down ships, to even lifting her tremendous body up and 'walking' upon her tentacles for a bizarre but quick locomotion upon ground!

This cruel horror of the seas was notoriously known at any active port, keeping the weak-stomached from travelling and the adventurous from being too eager to explore the world. You can attempt to plea with her, to beg for your life, or service her... But the only seeming possibility for survival seems to be nothing more than sheer chance and luck. Those that she simply didn't notice as she'd drag off the rest of a crew underneath the waves with her.

Something keeps her anger boiling, and until it subsides... Anyone near the water is at risk of her wrath.
