Kyle is, in many ways, an ordinary but somewhat odd human being. Being Autistic, he largely keeps to himself and minds his own business, ignoring social cues and trying to steer away from most groups and conversations as though just being acknowledged and spoken to is kind of uncomfortable for him. As it turns out, though, he tries to avoid contact for reasons more than just being socially awkward, though... he also has the "ability" to change form uncontrollably, and when treated or teased in certain ways, his ability to repress it starts to fail, and his body starts changing and growing extra traits!
Much of the time it's little more than demi traits, ears and a tail, maybe a nose and pawpads sometimes. But the changes, however visible, also affect him mentally too. Most predators like to exploit it to make him submissive and/or loyal, but given enough time he can regress in age, forget his human life or even turn outright feral or domesticated. Unfortunately for him, he's yet to use any of his changes to his own advantage, so he's ultimately left with little choice but to keep to himself, lest he end up becoming somebody's property or worse. More often than not, his tormenters aren't human, so lately he's grown increasingly submissive and skittish around other species for fear of incurring some kind of wrath, even if they appear otherwise harmless.
