Kannagi is a different sort of magical girl... though she -does- like reading about that type and watching them on TV. She herself is a lone magical girl, and the current guardian of Akihabara Electric Town in Tokyo, Japan!
What could possibly want to threaten Akihabara, you ask?~ Lots of things! Alien invasions, roving tentacle beasts, unwashed otaku zombies... you name it, Kannagi has fought it. She's good at it, too. Why~? Because her power is otakuism!
See, Kannagi has the power to recreate anything she's ever seen in an anime, manga, game or doujin... from giant robots to ninja training, all it takes is a simple chant...
'Magical Cosplay Akihabara Girl Kannagi~! Miyu mayu myao~!'
And poof, she becomes whatever she wants. Therefore, she doesn't really have a magical girl uniform of sorts... her uniform is whatever she wants it to be! Sailor suit, battle armor, barely-there bikini... all depends on her plan of action!
Her plan of action usually strays towards the giant robot end of the spectrum, though. Somehow, she's managed to destroy every threat without even a bit of collateral damage to Akihabara itself. Of course, the surrounding parts of the city need to be rebuilt on a regular basis...
Every one of her 'cosplays' is very, very real. She's also able to hammerspace any item she's ever seen in anime/manga/doujin/games, and summon any sort of creature! This also makes her an obvious subject matter expert, to the point where giant tentacle monsters don't even faze her anymore, no matter how skimpy her clothing is!
Kannagi gained her powers from a shikigami that was hidden in a 1/1 scale Rei Ayanami figure on the top floor of an Aso Bit City store in Akihabara. She accidentally knocked it over, releasing the shikigami. It also knocked over the adjacent Asuka figure, which released a different shikigami. An evil one, which created her nemesis... who hides in the shadows to this day, plotting...
Who is her nemesis~? Misagi, of course! Fufufufu~
Kannagi herself stands about five feet, five inches tall, and weighs near a hundred and fifty pounds. She's thick and compact from eating sweets all the time (crepes and fluffy ice cream for life!), and is quite obviously an uber-otaku. She -lives- in Gamers in Akihabara (literally lives there... top floor, she has her 'headquarters') and spends her off time playing games and watching anime. She's a little clumsy and easily tricked sometimes, but most of her fans just say that adds to her moe factor. She's really a sweetheart, though it's difficult to learn this without wading through tons of otaku trivia and pocky boxes.
The only time she really ever leaves Akihabara is for conventions... like Comiket! She's suppoooooosed to go to school, but she only shows up there once a week or less... and not for very long, often citing the detection of a threat to Akihabara (which is usually not real~) as a reason to skip.
Despite being a very straight girl, she enjoys collecting bishoujo merchandise. She's always wanted a boyfriend, but most boys can't begin to keep up with a nerd girl of her caliber!

Of course... since she can imitate anything she's ever seen in her chosen subject materials... she's quite capable of gobbling folks... and quite willing to, as well!
Her favorite style is Millia Rage-esque hair ensnarement followed by a gentle digestion in her fluffy locks. Good cosplayers have to watch out for this the most... she'll often fall into an impromptu LARP session, claiming that she (as Millia) has to 'assassinate' said cosplayer~
Trapping folks in her rubbery belly would be second. She can fit most humanoids in normal more, or things much larger in 'digest it as it hits the bottom' mode~ She commonly does this after transforming into someone's favorite anime girl and spouting the overused 'You're so cute, I could just eat you up!' line.
A breast ensnarement/smother/slurping would be third. She's seen lots of hentai involving bosomsmothering, and loves it to death. She'll buttsmother and nethersmother folks too, but breasts first! She's proud of hers.
It's worth mentioning that Kannagi has a pet tentacle blob. It's basically a massive pink stomach-blob with all sorts of tentacles flailing about, as well as a huge tongue, for the purpose of ensnaring, gently violating, and devouring whatever Kannagi tells it to. And it usually does so without taking her as well!
