Kagai isn't a bully, necessarily, certainly not when compared to some of the dangerous characters walking the halls at Maruac. Still, you wouldn't want to catch her attention. "Mischievous" is a better word: like the kitsune of legend, Kagai delights in playing tricks, and once she gets her claws in someone, their life becomes significantly more interesting whether they want it to or not. People rarely get hurt, but her pranks walk a fine line between tricks and torment — and they walk it wobbly enough to fail a sobriety test. People have tried everything to shake her off: pleading, playing along, even pranking back. So far, the only sure solution has been to bore her...and unfortunately, she's easily amused.

But though her victims will often swear the kitsune is an evil demon sent to torture them, Kagai isn't all bad. She's an avid participant in the school Culture Club, where she delights in wearing traditional clothing; after school, she works part-time at the local Inari shrine. (Of course, that does nothing to dispel the half-serious rumors that she really is a yokai.) Despite her otherwise mischevious attitude, she takes both these roles extremely seriously.

Still, that quiet, traditional side of hers is of little consolation to her victimized classmates. Kagai's antics lead most to keep their distance, and so she has few friends. If it bothers her, though, she doesn't let on — and it certainly isn't going to stop her from playing her tricks. She seems content to float alone through the school, like a shark surrounded by minnows, waiting for new prey to entertain her. Fortunately, she doesn't tend to really eat said prey.

Unless it would be funny.
