Inverna has a problem. It's a pretty big one.
She's not supposed to be a girl. Not according to every memory she's got, at least. But, it's been years, now and there's no sign she's going to change back, so Inverna's sort of settled into her new body, reluctantly. In some respects, it almost appears she's embraced her new appearance.
A glance tells you that Inverna's a girl. Even with the perpetual slouch, the stomping walk, and the almost complete lack of hip-sway with her movements, there's no hiding it. Standing a bit under 5'9, though she'll argue for hours about the fact that she is, actually, five foot nine on the dot, she could be called petite. Certainly, there's no great bulk to her, her form relatively slender. Her typical weight varies between 'fit' and 'pudgy'.

What curves she have aren't exactly boyish, though. A pert, if not tiny, bust sets perkily atop her chest, perhaps a B-cup. It's even clad in a bra most of the time, nowadays! Most of what she's got 'going on' is below. The girl's got a killer ass, and the hips to match it. Her legs are muscular and strong, rather than slim and slender, and coated in a pleasing layer of fat. It's obvious they're made for walking and the occasional ass-kicking (and maybe fucking), not high heels.
Of late, perhaps since her formation of relationships, and general.. mellowing out with age, Inverna's style has changed. Slightly. While she still favors tank tops and heavy jackets, along with shorts, skirts and leggings, all of them tend to be in better repair, looking more 'artfully distressed' than 'actually scavenged from a dumpster'. Tops with the names of her favorite bands, or dark attempts at humor are common, be they sleeveless or sleeved. She usually wears a leather jacket or bomber jacket over the top, and the spiked collar with a d-ring on the front screams 'BDSM'.
Below this, a skirt, or pair of shorts just long enough to cover her ass has also been 'updated', usually cute and well-suited to her, even if still a bit worn and muted. And, whatever she wears, it is, in fact, even properly fitted, doing little to hide the substantial rear of hers. Leggings, of black, grey, dark blue or maroon are typically worn to cover her legs, as well, though these are not as torn and destroyed as they once might have been.To complete her odd ensemble, she still wears scuffed, dirty and broken-in combat boots.
Other identifying characteristics include her tattoos, which cover both arms, and her left side and back, as well as reaching down her left leg, and a propensity for smoking cigarettes, to go along with her binge drinking.
And, for whatever reason, she has a real soft spot for kids. No, really.

For the many things that Inverna shares with her typical body, Raphael, there's at least as many differences.
The first, and most recognizable is her gender. She's a girl. It's almost like she was born that way! Which, in fact, is mostly true. She was created that way. How, and for what particular reason, is hard to say. Even though she's asked, about a million times. It's Raphael's brain, his memories , planted into a a body that his new boss' reality generated based on his genetic information, an extrapolation of his appearance and body, had Raphael been born female.
The way Inverna looks at it, she's a clone. A reconstituted double of Raphael's soul and mind, plopped into this body.
Inverna, though a near-perfect copy of an Akyteos (Raphael), is not quite alive. She is a spirit, a copy of the Akyteos within Raphael. She wasn't born, and doesn't have the innate generation of life energy that powers most living creatures, and are especially important to the Akyteos. As such, she does have some requirements to sustain her health that he lacks.
Namely, as a spirit, she's dependent on consuming the energies of beings from whatever realm she's currently present in, in order to keep her corporeal form. If she goes more than a week without partaking in these energies, she'll begin to fade to little more than a ghost, a shade who's incapable of touching or interacting with physical objects. Understandably, she tries very hard not to let it get this far, as recovering from being incorporeal and constantly starving is difficult and painful.
So, there's one real solution that she's come across. And that is to consume the living energies of someone. To eat them, and absorb their life-force. And thanks to how her body works, there's only really one way to do that. Despite her initial disgust, she's grown accustomed to eating others whole and alive. After all, living is living, and sometimes instinct and craving creeps up on her... After all, the body knows what it needs!
The last gift of her Akyteos nature, of being a creature of spirit, rather than flesh, is both a blessing and a curse. She's functionally immortal. Her spirit, the essence of herself, is capable of rebuilding a body after it's destroyed, with or without her agreement. So, no matter the situation, for good or ill, she'll be back, eventually. Of course, if one is capable of capturing and controlling spirits, perhaps she's a bit more easily contained than she might think.
What is an Akyteos?
Simply put, they are branch of the tree of life, akin to humans, but unique. Their souls have been (depending on your viewpoint) either 'tainted' or 'changed'. Some have a connection with a force of entropy, that drives them. Others are simply not-quite-human, with slight differences in their capabilities to most typical folk. They can be powerful and dangerous, or they can be nearly completely normal. Of particular note, most are able to return to life after being killed, which is the most remarkable side-effect of their 'difference'.
