Hagalaz
tl;dr (ish): Aethius' little sister, though the age difference between them is big enough that you'd be forgiven for thinking he's her father. goes exclusively by the nickname Gala. at birth she was blessed with a Rune by a mysterious stranger, granting her extraordinary abilities well beyond what's typical for her species. yet the rune Hagalaz (meaning destruction) isn't the most favorable. her multi-elemental magic, while both impressive and versatile, is a totally uncontrollable force that only manifests during bursts of extreme emotion. this makes poor Gala a walking disaster zone; her powers inadvertently killed both of her parents when she was just a toddler, and while Gala has no memory of the event, Aethius was so traumatized by it that he chose to intentionally shelter his sister from her true nature ever since. she's just 'Gala', not 'Hagalaz', and as far as she's concerned there's nothing wrong with her. things just tend to... happen around her when she gets upset. bad things. scary things.
dangerous magic flaring up in her proximity hasn't proved to be the most endearing trait, unfortunately, since Gala has no real friends to speak of. despite Aethius sending her to an exclusive boarding school for her own safety and protection, her propensity for causing accidents has gradually scared away all of her would-be companions, leaving her completely dependent on her brother for emotional support. she knows all about the shady business he gets into as head of the Pokemafia, but it doesn't bother her in the slightest. on the contrary, Gala aspires to be just like her big brother one day, and her attempts to steal away in the dead of night to visit him are distressingly frequent. sadly, her sweet and pampered demeanor doesn't mesh well with the rough, grisly mafia lifestyle, and Aethius is stubbornly determined to keep her far, far away from it all.
only time will tell how successful his efforts prove.
