Technomancers... Born of the Matrix Crash 2.0, with the advent of the wireless matrix, they are individuals capable of interfacing with the wireless matrix without any special equipment. Nobody is particularly sure how, and most evidence points to technomancy being some form of magic. Whatever it is, it makes technomancers an interesting technological threat... and Gamble is one such threat.
Gamble was one of the first technomancers to recover from near-death due to being jacked in to the Matrix during Crash 2.0, discovering her newfound powers in the privacy of her apartment, to her gratitude. Having never been one for the legitimate side of things, she began to exploit her new abilities for personal gain, in the form of cheating casinos. Able to affect the outcome of casino games that made use of the new wireless matrix while seemingly doing nothing, she made a tidy sum for herself, up until the point where knowledge of technomancers became widespread, and she got caught in a careless attempt to fix a game of blackjack.
She quickly became known as a criminal to most major casinos, with a bounty in the hundreds of thousands of credits, making an enemy of one of the megacorporations in the process, forcing her to go underground. With limited options, she took to being a Shadowrunner; a mercenary-for-hire, of sorts, deniable assets to do the dirty work. Her abilities as a technomancer served her well, joining a team of other Shadowrunners as their rigger. As a rigger, she can 'dive' into drones, vehicles, and other systems, taking control of them as if she were the thing she is diving into.
As a person, however, she's fairly snarky and confident; growing up on the internet and then becoming able to interface seamlessly with the internet will do that to a person. She's fairly confident in her skills, which leads her to take bigger risks than she probably should, which don't exactly always work out the way she plans! Her teammates find themselves bailing her out more often than not, but despite these shortcomings they still find her a valuable asset to the team. As a throwback to her casino hijacking days, her runner "handle" is Gamble.
She's now working with her team to attain their ultimate goal of getting contracted for the kind of job that would set them up for life and allow them to buy their way out of their criminal pasts, even if they find the idea of such a life a little difficult to accept. But who knows what adventures lie in wait for her?
