Every family has a black sheep. That one family member that they look upon not with hatred, or disdain, but just that 'eeeeeeeegh' sound that means they have no idea how to treat or act around said family member.
And we mean every family. Even celestial families!
Ebiterasu is the black sheep of the Japanese kami. She's Ameterasu's sister, and was actually slated to be goddess of the sun herself at one point. Problem is she's a lazy greedyguts who consumes whoever and whatever she feels like at any time, whether they be god, mortal, animal, plant, galactic body... you know, that sort of thing. She loves stuffing pretty much anything she can into her tubby, putrid guts... though she prefers things that can complain and wriggle, or at least taste good.
She lives in the mortal realms herself, though no one thought to take away her celestial brush, or any of the strokes that made her sister famous. She even made up a few of her own, not so much concerned with art as she is with devouring folks!
Seeing as she is a goddess (sorta... ?) she's pretty powerful, and most struggles are pretty futile against her greedy tum. She's not mean though, so if you ask nice, she might resurrect you after you churn to death in her belly.
