Ameterasu

'Oh Goddess of the Sun, Ameterasu, grant us your blessings, your light and your warmth... '

These words, uttered by all in the gorgeous lands of Nippon, had once risen to Ameterasu's ears every morning, filling her mind with a benevolent love for all of those beneath her...

That was long ago, however. Few, if any, pray to her anymore. The age of the gods has passed for most, replaced by technology, which leaves Ameterasu little to do other than continue her job in silence, her body and mind cold, devoid of the praise and happiness she had once recieved every day of her existence...

It is because of this that the goddess Ameterasu has decided to alight upon Terra in physical form. She has come to see, for herself, exactly what has replaced the kindness and faith of the people she once adored as her subjects.

It would not be the first time this goddess has set foot upon the earth. Long ago, she did the same to defeat an ancient evil, the serpent Orochi... back then, as well, the gods power had waned due to a lack of belief, and it was through her direct intervention that prosperity returned to the land along with the glorious sunlight she represented.

Is it the same this time around? Are the sentient beings of the world making themselves miserable, or is there something more? Another evil, perhaps, to be vanquished, to restore order and joy to the lands she loves. Ameterasu will find out. That is why she has come.

Her initial descent, however, was slightly spotty. The goddess appeared upon the earth in her favored wolf form, only to have hunters and poachers tracking her down within days. Their desire for her rare pelt was much more terrifying to her than the simple fear villagers had shown of her in the past. An alteration of her form was required, and as a result, she is now a wolfgirl. She wears nothing but traditional Nippon garb... kimono and yukata, mostly, though in moments of comedy she may be seen wearing a gi or an outfit suited to ninjitsu. She finds these clothes to be delightfully comfortable year-round, and sees no reason to move up to the synthetic fibers and tight, constricting garments the world seems to have embraced as a whole.

Which is, in no way, a bad thing. Traditional Japanese clothing compliments the wolfgirl goddess's mortal figure in quite a striking way, though if one were to look at her, the most prominent feature is her tail. The thick, lush appendage is easily the size of her body, and usually remains wrapped about her waist to keep it from striking things as she walks. Her fur is a grey-tinged fall of white silk, with an inky blotch at the tip... this tail is the Celestial Brush.

The Celestial Brush is a source of power for Ameterasu, and allows her to perform many miracles. She can do these things without the brush, at her full power, but the brush itself carries a rule - No other Celestial can interfere with its power. This allows her to accomplish things without the possibility of outside interference.

Not to say that the rest of her is not striking. She's not very tall... perhaps five and a half feet... with a full, soft figure, with particular attention paid to the formation of her rather hefty bosom, accented lovingly by her favorite kimono. Her hair is the same silken grey-white as her tail, with inky tips... thick and soft, she spends much of her idle time stroking it as she thinks. Both hair and tail are in constant motion... flowing like water, or shifting as if caught by a breeze... as if both are alive.

The goddess is somewhat easily distinguished by the red patterns upon her body, shared with those upon her favorite kimono... she once bore these upon her fur, long ago, and now wears them on her skin. The catch here is that a wholly mundane person cannot see these patterns... nor can they see the inky qualities in her hair, or the life that flows through them. To a mundane person, she appears to be a normal, if strikingly beautiful, wolfgirl.

Her eyes require a particular note, as well... for they gleam gold in even the darkest of nights, twinkling with knowledge and mischief in equal measure.

Ameterasu's favorite pastime is, as of right now, the exploration of the beautiful country of Japan. You might find her lounging in the snow upon the peak of Mount Fuji, or strolling along the beaches of Yuigahama, or peering down at the bustling economy of Akihabara. Or you might not... for, it's said, one never finds Ameterasu. Being the goddess, she does the finding... she chooses who sees her, and where. She keeps an eye out for a great evil to vanquish, but it truly does seem that those she once adored for their sheer tenacity and strength have become complacent and lazy... a sad prognosis for a goddess to swallow.

And, speaking of swallowing, Ameterasu has yet another pastime that needs to be mentioned. For you see, a flighty wolfgirl goddess requires interaction and fun at times, just like any other... and while she requires no sustenance as you or I might know it, she does find the act of ensnaring other humanoids to be quite pleasurable, whether they like it or not. She prefers them to enjoy themselves, but she'll not hesitate to snap them right up if they're being rude in her presence.

Ameterasu is also a somewhat skilled combatant, though her abilities are not so much her form... but the fact that she is a goddess, wielding godly artifacts for weapons. At any time on her person, she carries the Blade of Kusanagi, the reflector Infinity Judge, and the rosary known as the Resurrection Beads... and is quite proficient in wielding all three. She also specializes in the manipulation of karma... someone who wrongs her might find that every tree branch in a one hundred mile radius decides to fall upon them, or that a typhoon has locked onto them like a heat-seeking missile. She can take this to extremes, as well, by putting someone under a karmic backlash charm... if they wish to cause harm, they take twice what they consider dealing out. As one might imagine, this is very good at discouraging violence in her presence. While she doesn't need to, she also enjoys using talismans... it helps mortals to understand what she's doing, at the very least, and commonly uses these to exorcise demons or exact vengeance upon those who have mocked or wronged her.

Ameterasu, admittedly, has become fascinated with technology. When she believes no one to be looking, she can be seen fiddling with all sorts of electronics and toys and gadgets, and while she very rarely gets them to function for their intended purpose, they still delight her. Her favorite things right now are a plastic wind-up kitten ('Oh, my! A doll, capable of walking on its own! Such powerful sorcery... ') and her portable radio ('If you wiggle this part, you can hear all sorts of voices and sounds. I wonder why all of these people are trapped in this box, though? Perhaps a punishment?).

As was said before, Ameterasu finds the consumption and entrapment of those around her to be delightful. She has attempted a few methods, and being a stubborn goddess, will likely not be talked into anything unlisted until she herself thinks of the idea, assumes it to be her own, and acts on it.

Ameterasu's utter favorite is her tail. She can swell this silken, furry appendage to incredible sizes and do so much... slurp her prey in through the tip, wrap them in its coils... or, if she feels more inclined to rough treatment, crush them slowly in its inescapable grip or smother them into nothingness~

After her tail comes her hair, and while she uses it for similar purposes, the free-falling nature of hair allows her to create much more of it, allowing her to 'take on all comers', so to speak. If there are multiple 'victims', she will use her hair to ensnare them all... not saying that she won't use it on one person, however, as burying someone in thick piles of silken grey-white fluff is very pleasurable. The hair is more apt to tangle and ensnare her victims, holding them for long periods of time as she trots about, teasing them before they are finally absorbed or crushed.

The warm flesh of her impressive bosom is her next choice, and is exclusive to those she has grown close to, for she will allow them to rest serenely against her chest, slowly drawing them in to rest close to her warm heart. She considers this to be a great honor to the reciever, whether she chooses to smother and squish them into oblivion or not.

She can also reduce her target in size and slurp them right up with her mouth... which is, admittedly, only done so she can tease them with her tongue. She adores having tiny things fighting her tongue, because she always wins. No one's ever commented on the nature of the tummy of the Goddess of the Sun... I wonder what it might be like?

She is a goddess, however... and she can create an infinite number of scenarios that warp reality to suit her own ends, though these things are also considered to be great honors to her chosen prey and will be exclusive to those who she adores.

On a side note, for those who wish to approach, bringing an offering of sake might be prudent. Ameterasu does enjoy the taste of sake... the stronger, the better.

Ameterasu will stay for as long as she sees fit. There is much beauty still left in this world, even though the people who inhabit it have largely dropped in quality since the days of her self-imposed incarceration in the Heavenly Cave. Still, there are gems out there... and amidst her idle wandering and searching, she will be sure to pluck these gems from the rough and give them a good shining.

She's very rarely seen without her little friend, Issun... she's quite fond of the miniature fellow, in fact...

How could you not like Issun? He's so dashing~

I'm a little surprised, in this picture~

Can't think of anything to say...

Fawning over Issun~

He's a bad boy~ I should punish him!

Celestial Brush~? What Celestial Brush? I certainly don't have one of those~

Kitted out for combat~

My child disguise, for infiltration. It's a secret~
