Don Diablo is a cruel man who knows no love for any living creature. Not even his son, Dean. But even though the Don has no real interest in raising his only child, he still keeps him around, and pampers the brat with money and posh presents for the sake of keeping up images around other people. Otherwise, you can bet your boots he'd have done away with Dean long ago when given the chance.
His only real interest is entertaining himself, and having power over everybody else. Money is a means of control, which is why the Don also loves money; while he could simply take anything that he wants by force, he can use money to connive and manipulate other people to willingly submit themselves beneath his thumb. People paying him for "protection" from his own brute force is the most amusing thing he knows. When people can't pay the fine or aren't willing to work for him, he generally has the pleasure of punishing them himself. He enjoys beating them, forcing them to be his new "pets", devouring them (or their souls).. Whatever sounds more interesting to him on a whim, although it's never merciful. He is punishing them, after all.
Although a willing meal is not above his merciless hunger-- and sure, sometimes you get the oddball who's so suicidal, or respects the Don so much, that they actually ask to be a part of his stomach for some reason-- he is open to, and just as amused by, those who willingly submit themselves as his "pets", or lovers. He understands that he's a man with a lot of power, and that comes off as alluring, or sexy, to some. Perhaps one of his favorite night-time activities is going out on the town with some pretty arm-candy, flaunting them in front of all the people who despise him, and then taking them back to his hideout to have his way with them. And probably eating them after that. He gets hungry.
Willing subjects, or at least anyone who wishes to actually join the Demon Mafia and avoid his direct wrath, are generally welcome if they can provide some act or cruelty, or prove their power. The Don expects obedience, and strength, and will demand it from his "goons" in spades. If you're interested in joining, expect for Don Diablo to use you when, and how, he sees fit.
History:
In his younger years, the great Don Diablo was one of the most powerful leaders of Hell's armies. His minions feared him, his peers respected and feared him, and he was known across the molten lands as a cruel warlord with a lust for power. A lust so great, in fact, that when Hell had no enemies left at their doorstep to squash underfoot, Don Diablo took it upon himself to bear the burden of the threat-- by challenging Hell's armies, himself. He drank deep from the cup of desire, and saw a goal before him: to rule over them all.
Of course, Hell and it's countrymen are hardly known for their loyalty, so the Don had few allies to rely on, and the battle was an inevitable defeat.. leading up to his banishment from his homeland, weakened from years of battle. Cast out from Hell, he ended up in the land of the living, on Earth, or more specifically, in the city housing Eka's Park.
With a few of his fellow demons at his back-- the ones who had been loyal to him during the war, anyway-- he set up shop in the streets. Even in his weakened form, he was still so much more powerful than the peons who could have possibly resisted him, so it was incredibly easy for him to take what he wanted. He could have crushed the government and taken over the entire city at face-value, in fact, but the Don was more interested in playing the government and it's citizens like puppets, using his allies as the strings. Controlling them through manipulation and bullying just sounded more fun, especially when he allowed them to know it, spreading his name like some diabolical boogeyman with a legion of Hellspawn under his heel.
So the Demon Mafia was born.
Powers:
As far as raw physical and magical power goes, this is basically a godmoding character, and is meant to be able to overpower any opposing force. Few, if any Prey should be able to escape his grasp, although you have the chance of outsmarting him if you'd like to try. Just keep in mind that he could get impatient and just stuff you down his throat or rip out your soul and gobble it down without any song-and-dance, if he so chooses.
The Don's abilities are many, and all potent. As one of the most powerful existing demons, he has incredible strength, incredible magic; the ability to call elements, to weave objects out of thin air, to change and multiply his physical form, to transport himself to any place he's aware of, to grow or shrink, to read minds and bend wills.. There are hardly limits to his ability, although he finds that using many of these abilities will end his fun too quickly, and prefers to hold off on them until uppity prey thinks they have a chance. It's much more fun to reveal that they never had a chance at all at the end, and dash their hopes with one swift blow.
