Chujitsuna

In her world, there is no 'God' or any other ruling force or creator. The celestial races just sort of... Existed all of a sudden, way before the mortals. If there ever was a creator, then they are looooong gone.

Chūjitsuna- along with any angel not a Seraph -honestly believes that what she does is a holy act, that what she does is a good thing and that no harm to any race is being caused at any point in the process. She's been raised and conditioned to think this way, it's beyond ingrained, it's carved into her mind.

Known jobs for angelic beings

Gardeners
These Angels are second only to the Council. Their job is to create new Angels, or new souls. It's a tedious and difficult job, taking centuries of experience to perfect and years of careful weaving to get right. It's not exactly common but not rare to see a master Gardener mistakenly create a demonic soul as the similarities between demonic and angelic souls are so close that a few slight errors is all it takes. These mistakes are usually taken off to a chamber separate from the weaving chamber to be purified and then placed in a gem to be sent to the Fleshweavers for later use.

If all goes well in the process and purification is not needed, then souls can be rapidly produced. Well, rapidly in the terms of beings who don't measure time, which is about a soul a year.

The complexity of this task also means that there are very few Angels capable of performing it. If all of these angels were to somehow die, the Angels would be left severely crippled until they could find new angels capable enough to continue the process.

Fleshweavers
These angels use tools called flesh looms to weave together the bodies that the souls of created or converted angels and captured mortals will be using. They use this to layer the skin and mold it into a proper vessel for the soul of an Angel or a mortal bound to serve an Angel. With the amount of souls that tend to be brought in on a regular basis, there tend to be far more Angels working this particular job than Gardeners.

They also serve the second job of modifying the bodies of pre-existing Angels. This is normally done for members of the First Choir as they've earned the right to alter the body that a Weaver spent days making for their soul, though members of the Second and Third Choirs do sometimes have their bodies altered.
There are also cases of Weavers directly serving under Thrones, Cherubim, and Seraphim. These Angels were most likely converted mortals, still attempting to hold on to whatever resistance was left even after purification and being inserted into an angelic body.

Gem Crafters
Most of these positions tend to be filled with little need to open more. Gems are forged from a special crystal that grows under a large tree in the center of the celestial fields, formed to slot into jewelry and armor worn when Saviors and Demon Hunters go down to the mortal plain. Their ability to capture souls was an unknown effect until the Seraph Michal (now known as Michael, Seraph of the Gem Crafters), found that the large gem he wore on his chest plate would absorb the essence of demons and humans alike if they died when near him.

With that in mind, he removed more of the crystals from their home beneath the tree and began to work them into more gems, telling his disciples that they were to give them to the Saviors and Hunters.Thus spawning the gemling era, Saviors and Hunters utilizing this new craft to capture the souls of mortals and demons alike to return them to Heaven and purify them.

Fortunately, the gems are a reusable commodity. Very fortunate, given that the gems must be shattered to release the soul. The broken remains of the gem are sent back to the Crafters to be reshaped into a new gem.

Breaking a gem is easier said than done. Their tensile strength makes them stronger than any metal, some angels even opting to have weapons made entirely out of the gem, or padding armor with the material. These double as very potent weapons of war and tools for collecting souls. The difficulty in shattering the gems lies mainly in the need for intense heat to weaken its structure. The heat must reach temperatures the equivalent of the surface of the sun.

Demon Hunter
This one is rather self explanatory. These angels are tasked with hunting down and eliminating demons on the mortal plane or invading the infernal planes to make an attempt to cripple their operations. How the demons are killed does not matter. What does matter is the capture of their soul and returning it to Heaven.

This is a job usually relegated to high tier Angels with a lot of combat experience with them, but new Angels are placed in this class as well, usually mentored by the higher tier angels.

Saviors
The most common of jobs and one of the most dangerous, there are a plethora of Angels placed in this category. The reasoning for this is for the fact that tend to die so very often. Bolstering the ranks frequently makes up for the losses in souls returned to heaven.

What they do is that they go down to the mortal realm and take their souls, placing them in specially made gems and returning them to heaven. There, the former humans are either converted into more angels, or they are forced to serve an angel until they die, the angel dies, or the angel exchanges them for a different servant.
