A bit of backstory, eh?~

Asmodeus and Incarrtus were created by the Fastigim of the Groundskeeper and Skin-spinner classes, as a joint project and idea to create a parallel and perversion of the Seraphim of Balance; Yin and Yang. The two higher ups were sure that an instant boost in power and access to the demonic systems would intimidate their holy rivals, giving the demons powerful allies in the process. It didn't work out.

They were moved almost instantly after creation to the level of Fastigim, and like their holy counterparts, went into the demonic collectors: The Corrupter class. The problems started to arise when they were asked which branch of corrupter they were going to choose. They almost instantly chorused the word 'Lust' in Infernal, followed by a giggle and a high five. This was seen as childish, and noted down with skepticism and concern.

The concern was ignored however, when they proved to be immensely proficient at their job, corrupting mortals left and right like it was nothing. Asmodeus melted the hearts of men and women, luring them with soft words and a lean tall frame. Incarrtus melted their minds with a figure to die for, soft hair and a sharp tongue. They were, no demonic pun intended, on fire.

However, it was on the twelfth mortal year after their conception when suddenly their soul intake stopped altogether. When asked about it, both responded with quick answers, vague and uninformative. Usually along the lines of 'We're trying, but no one seems interested...'. However, it was after a haitus of nine mortal months, during which hellfire stewed, waited for them to come back and start being great at their jobs again, when they decided to investigate...

What they found shocked, and infuriated the entire council of Fastigim. Asmodeus was seen in a disguise as a human child, interacting with mortals in some kind of group in a library, a mortal store of knowledge. And Incarrtus was seen in a similar disguise, at some kind of party, in a mortal house, whooping and dancing along with the crowd. The reaction was instant. They were pulled down in fiery portals to the council's meeting room, shocking their mortal acquaintances, and sparking rumors of the vanishing children.

Both were forced to answer for the most heinous of demonic crimes: Interacting with a mortal without malignant intentions. They were stripped of rank and all mortal slaves they had accumulated, and forced to remain in their childish human disguises, with demonic identifiers such as their tails and wings attached, starting at the bottom. Well, almost. A sympathizer allowed them to start one stage up from the bottom, as Archdemons. Still, they had to start over again, and this time as children... It wasn't going to be easy. But they saw a bright side, they could finally actually act like children, and get away with it. Instantly a sibling rivalry sparked, and they looked to the future with renewed vigor.

In their world, there is no 'God' or any other ruling force or creator. The celestial races just sort of... Existed all of a sudden, way before the mortals. If there ever was a creator, then they are looooong gone.

There are nine levels of demonic power, that reflect the nine titles given to angels. In order from most to least powerful:

First Chorus:
Fastigim
Princepim
Sovereignties

Second Chorus:
Dominations
Vices
Authorities

Third Chorus:
Overseers
Archdemons
Demons

A little run down of their powers so far:

Demon - At the level of Demon, the lowest of the Third Chorus, they would have the ability to use their wings for flight, the ability to distort their voice to mortal ears, and a basic control over fire in mortal terms.
Archdemon - At the level of Archdemon, the middle of the Third Chorus, they have the ability to hypnotize people with their eyes, have control over a greater range of mortal fire, and can perform small rituals and deals.


There are also a multitude of jobs given to the demons, much like their angel counterparts. Here are the ones known so far:

Groundskeepers

These Demons are second only to the Council. Their job is to create new Demon souls. It's a tedious and difficult job, taking centuries of experience to perfect and years of careful steps. It's not exactly common but not rare to see a master Groundskeeper mistakenly create an angelic soul as the similarities between demonic and angelic souls are so close that a few slight errors is all it takes. These mistakes are usually simply either destroyed, or thrown into The Pit for a while before extraction, and being given to the Groundskeeper as a slave.

Skin-Spinners

These demons use tools called "Skin Sewing Machines (™)" to stitch together the bodies that the souls of created or converted demons and captured mortals will be using. They use this to layer the skin and mold it to their will, usually resulting in the body simply being made to look as it once did, or to suit the soul it is made for.
With the amount of souls that tend to be brought in on a regular basis, there tend to be far more Demons working this particular job than Groundskeepers.

They also serve the second job of modifying the bodies of existing Demons. This is a practice not as looked down upon as in the Angels' society, because they simply could care less about each other, they simply wish to further themselves and their closest allies, as mortals do.

Corrupter

The most common of jobs and one of the most dangerous due to the prolonged exposure to the mortal realm, and chance of running into hunters or mortals with strong devotion against them, as such there are a plethora of Demons placed in this category. A corrupter can be of one of seven types:

Lust - Usually Succubi and Incubi, placed around to corrupt mortals through their sexual desires. This is usually seen as cliche among the demons, and hence quite childish.

Greed - Usually disguised as casino owners, loan sharks and the like, having the ability to make things appear more desirable, such as large amounts of wealth, and the deals they make.

Sloth - No one really knows how these ones corrupt mortals; making them lazier and lazier until they are simply too lazy to breathe seems to be the general consensus though.

Gluttony - There are a lot of these ones. They make mortals want to eat. It is speculated that this is why the recent years have seen an increase in cannibalism and general consumption of others, but no one really can get the evidence to pin the blame on them.

Wrath - Usually partnered with a greed corrupter, this breed is quite nasty. They are behind most wars, and are responsible for some of the biggest influxes of dead mortals.

Pride - Again not many people know how these ones can corrupt, but it's speculated that they simply manipulate proud people into proving their worth and then they claim them.

Envy - This brand of corrupter is seen as very strange. They work by corrupting other mortals than the one they wish to have, making them jealous and making them want to end the mortal of the demon's desires, so that the soul can be snatched.


Asmodeus and Incarrtus both use a pentagram-like design on their clothing, and for their summoning. Between the two outer circles are symbols for the demonic language, Infernal, and the symbols spell out the words: "Give my spell focus, meaning, and direction. Allow entrance, and activate sequence.". This is also a chant used in rituals for young demons to give more power to the process. As well as this, instead of the star that the regular pentagram has, their one has an atom-like design, with the Infernal symbols for "Chaos and love" in the center, because they thought it would be cool.
