Appearance When looking at Bryana under normal circumstances, you wouldn't exactly think she was anything more than a normal university student. She doesn't cover her body in ocult symbols, nor does she (often) wear clothing that would get her suspended from any self-respecting campus.

Personality Although Bryana was originally just a stable-minded student, her connection with the creature certainly has affected her reaction to some situations. One example of this would be one day when, having bought herself the last remaining espresso in stock from a local coffee shop, she was interrupted upon leaving the shop by a redheaded executive, who quite strongly insisted that she would buy the drink from her.

When Bryana refused this offer several times, the woman showed her bigot side as she unleashed a hail of racial insults upon her. When the university student simply decided that such a woman wasn't even worth talking to and turned away, the redhead grabbed the drink from her hands and forced her against the nearest wall before pouring the boiling liquid down Bryana's collar.

Such acts wouldn't exactly bring out the best in any person, but without Syl, Bryana would've just let such a scene end with the bigot being arrested for assault, not what happened next. Instead of letting the police handle with such a woman, Bryana dragged the redhead around the back of the shop where she could handle her in privacy. It was an occasion where wearing a skirt came in handy, as she - with a little help from Syl - forced the bigoted young woman into that tight little pucker that lead into her backside.

Background She wasn't always this most unusual combination of ooze and woman, Bryana was originally little more than your bog-standard university student, and that would've been the way it stayed if it hadn't been for Syl. Syl never originally had a name. or at least a name that Bryana knew of, she merely coined it herself.

Their first meeting with each other turned out to be quite influential upon their later relationship, even though the initial intensions were rather more hostile than friendly. The original objective of the lifeform she named Syl had actually been to subdue and consume Bryana, but that wasn't how it happened.

Syl had taken several rather well-planned steps while preparing to attack Bryana, the motivation behind these steps though wasn't any kind of sentient thought though. Instead it was merely the mind observing and using what it saw in a chain of events which could stem from it.

For example, it saw that everytime Bryana made the journey from her home to the university, she would leave her bulky coat in a locker at the trainstation and instead swap it for the rainproof jacket in the same locker, with weather permitting. It also saw that no-one would enter a room with a 'Closed for Cleaning' sign upon it, and so a plan was formed.

The next evening when Bryana was returning from university, having entered the room to retrieve her coat, a perfect copy of the 'Cleaning' sign moulded in black appeared upon the door while a smidge of 'grease' crept into the lock and jammed the mechanism shut.

Of course, Bryana didn't know anything about this as she fumbled around in her pockets for her key, the only realisation she had was when she finally opened the locker. The pitch black slime was on her within seconds, moulding and contorting around her body as it began to envelop her.

Had Syl simply gone on to digest Bryana from there, it would have spared itself the unusual life it lived afterwards, but that was not the way Syl hunted. Rather than simply breaking prey down there and then, it would connect minds with it's catch and grind them down until nothing remained save a spasming meal.

And so, as the ooze began to prepare her body for the introduction of several unpleasant digestive products, Bryana felt a second conciousness join her own. Until then the creature had only faced animals and people subdued by alcohol, not the fully fledged human mind Bryana was equipped with.

Even as it tried to launch it's own attacks upon her, it showed her the way to strike back with pinpoint accuracy in comparison. The mental battle lasted mere minutes, but the effects it had upon both minds would last a lifetime.

Bryana came out victorious over the creature, cutting the hunting instincts off from the rest of it's unusual mind, yet in doing so she removed the ability to withdraw, linking it to her own. This turned out to be a blessing in disguise, as the actual memories within the creature were intact along with instincts other than those of hunting and killing.

This allowed her to simply take control of the creature herself, using it like she would an extension of her own body. Which was ironically what it had to become, otherwise the steps it had taken to prepare her body for digestion would have finished her off had she not countered them.

So, she used the creature to save herself from death yet bound herself to it both mentally and physically. In doing this Bryana changed herself and the creature, with it having her as an example from which to begin to rebuild it's shattered mind, and Bryana the creature's most unusual abilities to wield herself.
