Avaritia

Avaritia is no more. Since the birth of Tanran in January of 2015, the authority of Abrienda over Greed and the power it grants her in her villainy has slipped ever to the Contractor of Souls. Tanran holds no allegiance with Abrienda, favoring her mother Mecuria and has taken her power with her from that place, further weakening the grip of the demon on the Nega_Inval

Avaritia - Greed, Avarice

Ecclesiastes 5:10-11, "Whoever loves money never has enough; whoever loves wealth is never satisfied with their income. This too is meaningless. As goods increase, so do those who consume them. And what benefit are they to the owners except to feast their eyes on them?"

Ever since Abrienda claimed the Nega_Inval, between two of the loveliest of the trees has stood a small mansion of the finest oaks, of worthy stone and the most exquisite of construction. Unlike The_Hut, it never moves, is always constant, and anyone who seeks it does not have to look far.

Beyond the gates of the well apportioned, short stone wall, is a small garden that surrounds it. Beautiful statues of gold, silver, platinum and semi-precious stones stand throughout it, all of the most lovely of men and women. Each is in a different pose, some of them macabre and mortified, others beatific and peaceful. However, their lifelike qualities would fetch a king's ransom for any one of the masterpieces.

Once past doors of mahogany, inlaid with gold and gems in tasteful and precisely appointed fashion, one finds a sumptuous mansion, its halls deep into the earth and above to a fourth story. Every room is precisely and tastefully appointed. Demure, soulless beauties of both genders and countless races attend to a guest's every need before they are brought before the master...

There is Abrienda's Greed incarnate. His touch is midas', capable of turning anything that he wills into a precious material, a life-like sculpture of the finest quality. He is a craftsman of the caliber of Daedalus, the tools at his discretion nearly magical, and his capacities of creation... and transmutation almost as eerilie complete as Frankenstein's own. He is beautiful and yet in his eyes is eternal craving. Though he might have everything, more than kings of old or the khan's horde, still he would crave more. Power, beauty, slaves, money, esteem, there is never enough. If you are lovely in his eyes, he will wish you to be his, just like all the rest, to touch you and make you like his statues, or to devour and enjoy you so that none others can have you.

He is as incomprehensibly desirous as Redundo, but far more ... refined, at least in his mind. Sometimes, the edges of his mansion can be perceived beyond the Nega Inval, at least when he is coveting some new toy... which is frequent. He prefers his keepsakes and toys to remain and linger. Perhaps he desires them as statues. Maybe he wishes to consume their soul and preserve their body as a lifeless, soulless servant in his halls. If they are not beautiful enough, he can make them beautiful... for a price.

Of the incarna, Avaritia is one of the least possible, and it is more plausible to see him consumed by something with enough will and cleverness. However, dealing with him can be like dealing with the devil. He plays in contracts, falsehoods and lies, and one should never tread lightly in the company of a demon. They always have an ace up their sleeve. In the end, however, he is predominately predator and meant to be as such.
