Background:Emilie Cartouse, once just an average girl, plodding along amid an average life... Until she was - all too literally - hit by fate's arrow.

It hadn't even been a life threatening wound, just a shaft protrouding from within her leg at archery practice. Then came the dreams, the midnight chats between mortal and goddess, and the revelation that a potent diety really did have an interest in her.

This interest wasn't necessarily to her benefit though, as the Lady of Fate simply wished for yet another plaything to throw atop the table. As long as Emilie fought for her amusement, generating ever more circumstances which the Lady could take hold of, she would live on, and succeed.

The moment Emilie gave up the fight however, that supernatural arrowhead buried within her leg would begin to slowly yet agonisingly take her down from inside, sacrificing her soul to the Lady for all eternity.

Presented with such a choice, Emilie took on the handle of 'Arrowbound', her life bound to the will of the Lady's arrowhead buried within her flesh. For as she now knew well, even the goddess requires her playthings.
