Meet Arcee. Technically RC-093, but she finds that to be pretty stiff and formal, so she introduces herself as "Arcee". RC stands for Recon, which is her chassis class; shorter than most mechagirls, standing about eighty feet tall, her mission design is just that: reconnaissance. She goes in ahead of main force with other Recon units to assess enemy battle strength and deployment, to make things easier when the big girls come out to play. Which, interestingly enough, is the source of jealousy that is noticeable among her and others of her class. They find that they don't get nearly the same respect and admiration as the big girls do, the two-hundred-foot-plus mechagirls that lay waste to all before them, bristling with lasers and missile pods and plasma cannons galore, and this makes them jealous of their larger, more powerful sisters.
They find that pilots fawn over the powerful, flashy girls; even their own pilots, when they have them, are known to idolize the giant and powerful mechs and their pilots, while somewhat neglecting their own girls. When the Recons realized that their own pilots were beginning to be careless in piloting them, caring less and less for their safety, they uniquely became the first class of mechagirl to band together for the right to not be piloted on a mission, which was quickly agreed to by anyone in charge, as they took it to mean a lesser risk of life. What this means in practice is that although they are friendly, Recons are slow to trust, and Arcee is no exception.
