Altria is not your regular elf, in fact, she may not even be an elf at all anymore. Despite her young looks, she's actually over 300 years old. How has she gained such longevity? During her youth, she had dabbled in the dark arts of blood magic.

Umarog at the time had one of the largest underground sects devoted to the art of studying blood magic. This taboo magic was banned, but despite this prohibition, the studies continued. Altria quickly rose to the rank of magus at a young age, and was allowed entry to the higher level rituals.

Of course, it wasn't long until the council of grand magi, rulers at the time, found out about this, and they sought to destroy the sect by any means necessary. They sent their most skilled pack of sorcerers to the infamous city in their search for the blood mage sect. The twenty-three blood mages had found out about this beforehand, and had receded back into their deepest sanctums to perform one of the most demanding sacrifices.

While the sorcerers set Umarog on fire in their search for the sect, Altria and the 22 other blood magi assembled in their ritual chamber. Their strength right now, while something to be reckoned with, would not be enough to defeat the onslaughts of invaders. Therefore, they would all sacrifice their lives and power, so that one of them may inherit it, and become the ultimate blood mage. Twenty two skilled men and women died in an instant, and Altria rose among the corpses, feeling an incredible power within. By the time the sorcerers arrived, they were already too late to stop her, and she plowed through them until they were forced to retreat. Umarog was destroyed, and she swore that she would have her revenge.

The city of Umarog was rebuilt, slowly but surely. Altria personally worked from the shadows to dispose of any threats to her home. The ritual had left her changed. Her body wouldn't age, and she found an odd craving for blood to continue her evolution as a blood mage. She even found a great pleasure in consuming human flesh. Since then, she took on the responsibility of watching over the city, protecting it from outside forces. However, this came with a price as well. She hunts the citizens of Umarog, to still her appetite for blood. Thus, she is the apex predator of this foul city of thieves, rapists and murderers, as all those pale in comparison to the huntress in the night.
