Who and what is Tamashī

Tamashī is not of the mortal realm, yet he isn't technicaly dead...he is a creature who helps the dead find eternal peace, a grim reaper so to speak.   However unlike the grim reaper of comon fairy tales and folk lore he isn't bones hiding under a cloak with a scythe.  He tends to show up when someone is about to passaway, or already has...

As for what someone might see, he appears as a greyish blue anthro canine with light blue glow marks along his body, his lips seem to carry a dread look on his face, the signs of what he feels about his job...chains connected to his arms keeping him from moving on, stuck doing his job forever it almost seems

Personality

Tamashī is a kind hearted soul (literaly) to those who deserve it, souls who are pure of heart or not evil...find that the reaper (as some call him) rather welcoming.  Tamashī tends to feel bad for souls that felt like their life has been ripped away from them to early.

...but on the other hand, if your soul is corrupted...he will show no mercy if you resist his judgement.

Story

Yurei started his life living in the mortal realm and was born thousands of years ago...sadly he has no memories of his life, except that it was much shorter than most creatures of his species.  After death, he was brought forward to be judge by the gods...who after seeing his deeds, had sentenced him to be the reaper of souls (so to speak), helping souls past on to the after life and defend good souls from being destroyed or corrupted by demons and corrupted souls looking to feast on the pure souls...

Years after years would past, seeming Tamashī would be forever known as the master of Souls....he enjoyed his job for the most point, bringing confort for those whoms time it was to pass on...yet at the same time it hurt him emotionaly...not knowing what it was like to be mortal, knowing what love felt like...so one day he slipped out of the spirit realm and is now trying to find what its like to be alive (sort of) and still help souls pass on while protecting mortals from evil of the underworld

Powers and Forms

Speak/Channeling the dead
One of his most interesting powers comes from being able to contact a spirit of someone.  Thankfully its not like hollywood potrays it, where demons might show up and all that non-sense.  The catch being, that the person who wants to speak to a spirit must know the person, personaly...and the spirit may deny this if they so please...this is used for mortals to find closure with the deceased that they didnt get a chance to do when the spirit was still alive...and personaly is one of the few things that Tamashī does that actually can make him rather emotional to the point he might break down and sob.

Shapeshift
Mostly used when fighting demons, Tamashī can transform into either a dragon or a gryphon...which ever seems most useful.  In these forms he retains his normal coloring, chains and glowing marks.  Along with this, he also is in full control, preventing unwanted casualities (most of the time, he has accidently killed someone in one of his other forms). Another form that might show up, is a large feral wolf like form...standing about 6 feet tall

Hunger
Due to being exposed to the mortal realm, he has gained some unusual (to a spirit) desires...this includes actually needing to eat, Yurei is a omivore...so fruit and meat is on the menu.  Yurei doesnt shy away from eating life creatures, mostly with his power to reform prey if needed.  But as a spirit he has a dark desire to devour the souls of prey as well...rare it will show up but when he desires it, he will stop in nothing until the soul is part of him

I do wish to do more story driven rps, espically if they build upon this character...could just be memorable encounters, or making friends, gaining new forms...maybe even learning about his past life. Just let me know if you wish to dicuss something along the lines of this.
