Yuki is, seemingly, just your average schoolgirl, with her quiet voice, shy nature, and awkward presentation. But... None of that "average schoolgirl" description is actually 100% accurate. Yuki is not a schoolgirl, because while she'll tell you she's a girl, sound like a girl, act like a girl... she was born male. You see, Yuki is transgendered, and sorely wishes to have a girl's body to match what she feels her mind is. She doesn't just crossdress for fun or pragmatism, thus, but rather because she feels more comfortable that way. The "school" part is only partially accurate, for that matter, because Yuki may well attend school, but "student" is only /half/ of her job description. Finally, Yuki is in no way average, because she possesses divine blessings which she uses for her /other/ job.

Yuki is, more than just a student, one of the Church's secret High Exorcists, entrusted with a most holy (And dangerous) mission. Much like a certain other setting's secret exorcist group, the High Exorcists don't need to follow many of the normal limitations priests are expected to follow, due to their special ordinations. The probably most-significant one, is that they are in no way obligated to follow a vow of celibacy nor many of the standard mores of the church (lest they be considered damned eternally for the necessary deeds in hunting some of their marks), but on top of that they are recruited more for their gifts than for their devotion, so some of them can be... rather eccentric. Either way, High Exorcists not only banish evil spirits, but are the church's private, secret militant arm against all things supernatural and malicious - the latter being an important distinction, since redemption /is/ one of the great tenets of the faith. They most often face demons, but plain monsters, evil magicians, cultists, and even horrors from beyond the stars are also fair game.

Yuki specifically was recruited because of her rare and fantastic blessing of the "Divine Light of Creation". This not only enables her to reform after death, and bless others with resurrective miracles, but also gives Yuki the power to create simple life whole-cloth, heal wounds... and when pressed, fire searing rays of divine retribution. She can even manifest wings of light, though they serve as a focus to her power, not a means of flight. Because of this gift, though (one of unknown provenance), Yuki is often the heart of her chapter of the High Exorcists, and does her best to ensure her fellows return from the grisly, and often digestive, fates they tend to suffer when facing the horrors of the dark side of the world's nature. At least she's still a kind soul, willing to give them a chance... though that can sometimes be exploited.
