Yuffie Kisaragi was the young daughter of the leader of a small nation called Wutai, who felt at one time that her country has lost its former glory and has become a resort town. She was prone to motion sickness and obsessively stole and collected magical artifacts, originally joining a party with Cloud Strife in order to steal theirs. After her attempts led to her capture by a strange man named Don Corneo, and she was rescued by her former allies, she repented and remained alongside them until their fateful confrontation with Sephiroth.

However, where the 'real' Yuffie continued on with the fight, tag-teaming with Vincent Valentine, reality itself was altered by the amount of mana and energy warped into the fight with Sephiroth. A fragment... a copy... ended up here, in the park, some time and energy having past, the young lady having matured but knowing nothing of her subsequent adventures. It was almost as if the last two years had been lost in suspended animation of sorts in the lifestream, the fragment tossed here by powers unknown. It bears her original memories, her personality, perhaps even a copy of her soul. It cannot bring itself back to life, but where latent magical energies have a way of remaining in the haze outside, sometimes events have a way of repeating themselves.
