Yamata-No-Orochi, you likely heard many tales from countless stories, but for this one? Consider her a goddess of sorts, she had a priestess, her own benevolent cult, meant to bring prosperity to the local tribe of humans that worshipped her and nothing more, content with what impact she had on her little band of humans.

Then said cult got attacked by others, and the priestess she was in love with, even if Orochi knew she could never truly have her heart, got murdered by them.
This made her displeased with humanity ever since, and being sealed away afterwards by the priestess's surviving family (for as much as they mourned her loss, they couldn't let Orochi devastate the world in response) for thousands of years before finally getting a sense of freedom hasn't really helped with that, even if part of her has realized there was a reason her beloved priestess's own flesh and blood did that to her when she managed to partially unseal herself, getting use of an avatar to walk among the world again.

And yes, that would be the priestess's body she's using as an avatar as a focus - whether as just a human with snake-like features at a default height of six feet, or a lamia with a far longer scaly half, or even morphing it into a great beast of a snake itself, and of course her size can be widely variable: comparable to a human's or far larger when she wants to truly flex her might.
So, will you not let this snake goddess relieve you of your burden? Being part of her seems like it would be so much better than your constant struggles...
