=Section 1: History of Samus Aran=

Samus Aran's origins are somewhat shrouded in mystery and rumor in the current era, but the most accurate story goes like this: Samus Aran was a child living in a mining colony in a border system, the perfect sort of place for the Space Pirates, an organization of raiders and thieves terrorizing the cosmos, to raid, and one terrible day, they did. Samus lost her parents in that dreadful raid, reportedly slain by Space Pirate general Ridley. Her life was spared, somehow, but the Chozo race, one of mighty avians of great technological and spiritual study, took the girl under their wing, gave her some of their DNA, and raised her as one of their own... She became a great Chozo warrior, though not technically of their species, and with a piece of their technology, an modular suit of armor with a integrated arm cannon known as the Power Suit, Samus was recruited by the millitary of the Galactic Federation and taken into the armed forces in combat with the Space Pirates who ended her family...

For one reason or another, Samus eventually broke away from the millitary, though she became a mercenary relatively aligned with the Galactic Federation after that. And with that, she was sent to Zebes, the planet the Chozo she had lived amongst had once dwelled upon... But, all that remained now was ruins. The Space Pirates had discovered a parasitic species known as Metroid and had a cloning stock stored on Zebes. It was Samus's task to eliminate these Metroids and the head of Space Pirate operations on Zebes, a bio-mechanical mainframe they called Mother Brain. This, through the collection of assorted Chozo artifacts that integrated with her Power Suit, was accomplished with flying colors.

After Samus's Zero Mission to Zebes, she received a distress signal from a orbitting body near the planet of Tallon IV. During her investigation of this vessel, Samus's suit was damaged and she lost her ability to use many of the upgrades she had received from the Chozo artifacts on Zebes. She noticed a figure similar to the Space Pirate general who had slain her parents, and now in mechanical-looking form. Confused, weakened, and needing to repair her systems, Samus descended upon Tallon IV to investigate Pirate activity there. Upon the planet, she encountered the corrupting, mutagenic substance known as Phazon. After great struggle, she destroyed the source of the planet's Phazon, a beast known as Metroid Prime. In the creature's last moments, it tore off a recently acquired Phazon-resistant layer of Samus's Power Suit and merged with that, becoming a horrible new entity.

Sometime after the events on Tallon IV, Samus visited the strange planet of Aether, home of two warring species, each from one of the planet's twin dimensions. There were the Chozo-aligned Luminoth of the Light dimension, and the Dark dimension's residents, the Ing. After great struggle, and a few encounters with the suit-merged Metroid Prime, now knwon as Dark Samus, Samus brought peace to Aether, and with that, departed.

Samus and three other mercenaries were given a tall order after the events on Aether, a war against the powerful substance called Phazon. Travelling from planet to planet and exploring, Samus found that her comrades were corrupted by Dark Samus, and she was forced to terminate all three. Eventually, Samus destroyed both Dark Samus and the living planet Phaaze, source of all Phazon.

After the decimation of the Zebes base, the Galactic Federation set its efforts to investigating the Metroids further. They eventually discerned the Pirates had gathered their crop of the parasites from a dwarf planet known as SR388. Samus was sent there to destroy the whole population of Metroids on the planet. In turn, Samus discovered the creatures she had encountered on Zebes had only been larval. The mercenary was loced into deadly combat with highly evolved and equally lethal forms of the Metroid species, including the egg-laying queen. However, the mercenary made one key divergence from her mission to purge all Metroids... She spared a baby that hatched before her very eyes, and imprinted on her as its mother.

The last Metroid was in captivity... The galaxy was at peace... At least, until Samus encountered Ridley once more, who had stolen the baby Metroid and retreated to Planet Zebes, where the Space Pirates had constructed a replacement base. Samus went in hot pursuit of Ridley and the stolen Metroid. She found a resurrected Mother Brain, destroyed it, and then she retreated from Zebes as the new base self-destructed, taking Samus's former home with it.

After the destruction of Zebes, Samus was sent to lead an expedition to SR3388, the ecosystem of the planet having apparently altered wildly after the Metroid genocide. There, she was infected by a parasite known only as X. In a desperate attempt to cure her, they administered DNA from the baby metroid into her body, and with the infected parts of her suit removed, a strange evolution occured, and the X-absorbing Fusion Suit was born... After a hunt-down of the X parasites on the BSL research station, Samus sent the station crashing into SR388, destroying the dwarf planet... After that, due to the fact the Galactic Federation had intended to study the X-Parasites, Samus fled. None know her current location, and it is doubtful she shall be discovered without her wishing it.

=Section 2: Mutation=

Sometime after Samus destroyed the X-Parasites, she encountered an irregular energy pattern. Upon attemptiong to bring her ship in to investigate the source of the irregularity, Samus found her vision swimming and soon went black... When next she awoke, she found herself in an unknown location, and her Fusion Suit had been horribly warped... The suit, integrated with her DNA, had reacted violently, and now was a horrible bio-mechanical form, rather than the sleek, efficient Chozo technology of before. Where before she had a powerful arm cannnon, all Samus had to work with now is a pair of clawed hands to rend and slash at her foes... And in turn, with this suit Mutation, she has lost all of her previously acquired upgrades as always. Now only armed with the mutant Xenos Suit, Samus must survive and discover a way to leave her current location...

=Section 3: Upgrades=

These sharp claws are a basic but effective weapon, though they are merely well-reinforced keratin, meaning they're best at rending flesh and soft materials. They also allow Samus to grab ledges.

Thanks to fins grown upon the arms of the Xenos Suit, Samus both has improved ability to swim, as well as her slashes being wider while underwater.

This alien suit, warped by the energies Samus encountered, is more durable than a human, but nowhere near the power of even the initial Fusion Suit. It has the odd but versatile ability of Xenos Absorption, allowing it to assimilate weakened lifeforms and grant Samus their strength and abilities. However, this trait of the Xenos Suit makes it incompatible with Chozo relics.

A classic of Samus's arsenal, this visor provides a helpful reticle for targetting with weapons, as well as some simplistic detection software.

The most obviously useful of Samus's newfound abilities, the Hunter Radar grants the mercenary a radius within which entities either with useful abilities or that pose a threat are revealed.

These foot claws allow the mercenary to grip into most materials, allowing her to either temporarily or permanantly cling to vertical surfaces, though she may only climb on rugged, uneven, or otherwise easily dug into materials.

By kicking downward in the air, Samus can jump as though she were on the ground, although she can only perform this feat once before she is subject to physics as normal.

=Section 4: OOC Notes=

The jist of this alt is basically "Samus goes around getting herself into shit, unlocking new abilities as she absorbs people." Depending on how things turn out, I may end up adding new tabs to the present list, and if you feel I should move something from its current spot, please, share your thoughts. And don't be afraid to just come to me with an upgrade idea, and see if we can't work what she might acquire it from. Or even just an encounter for Samus to have in her travels. If you need an idea for how to write with this alt, think a little of Samurai Jack and how Jack wanders around, dealing with thing after thing. Also, temporary profile pic and eyecon until I can get the Xenos Suit drawn.
