Notes

Species Pre-Death: Dracorex Hogwartsia
Current Classification: Necroplasmic Lich

Appearance

Height: Ranges from 5-9 feet when in a humanoid shape. The bones within don't change, and she was 5'10'' at death.
Tends to keep a female form, though can adjust with a modicum of effort to an entirely different shape or manifest new limbs

Personality

Xanah is, quite understandably, hard to read. She doesn't talk, she has no facial muscles, and her stance tends not to shift around that much. While sometimes she's very obviously predatory, others she seems almost sociable. So approaching her is a risk in itself. But if she approaches YOU, then that means you're likely on the menu.

Abilities and powers

Necroplasmic ooze: Xanah is entirely amorphous, and made of an ooze that is downright hostile to anything that’s alive. Necroplasm tends to dissolve and digest away living tissue, and occasionally even does the same with anything organic in nature. The only things that tend to be consistently spared are metals and bones.
Soul Snare: The ritual that Xanah used to bind her own soul to a physical vessel had lasting effects. Her very essence is bound in the goo that makes up her body, and said goo tends to keep any other souls that come into contact with it stuck as well. Over time, Xanah has learned how to move souls suspended within her around, toy with them, take from them, even digest or destroy them completely when she pleases… Though nowadays she rarely does that last one. Generally after someone perishes inside of her, their soul is stuck and a few choice bits of essence are taken before they’re released along with anything left of their body.
Bones: As many point out, Xanah is not a B O N E L E S S goo. The skeleton suspended inside of her is technically not a part of her body. She simply uses them as a way to focus and hold a shape that’s more or less humanoid. In fact, with the exception of the skull, they’re not even her own bones. Though damaging any is a surefire way to enrage her. And anyone who dares try to destroy her skull will be hunted down without mercy.
Magical Deadzone: Xanah is basically a blob of condensed death magic. As such, she’s able to absorb any other necromantic energy that comes her way and also feeds off the death of living creatures nearby, and gaining the most benefit if they happen to die inside of her. Other types of magic more often than not either pass through her completely, or disperse harmlessly around her. And things that try to absorb said condensed death magic usually only end up getting the ‘death’ part of it.

Background

The ceremony and spells needed to become a lich are, understandably, quite complicated. When interrupted the magical backlash of such powerful magics can have unpredictable and often horrific consequences on those involved...

Decades ago, Xanah was an enemy of life, destroyer of villages, a powerful mage, and most importantly an aspiring lich. When word got out that she was preparing the ritual to transfer her soul into a waiting vessel and achieve a form of immortality, the call for heroes went out to bring true death before she could become more powerful. What followed was a gallant tale of clashing blades and daring do and in the end the forces of good were triumphant with a mighty green Draconain warrior being the one to subdue and devour her. The menace was vanquished, that is where the bards end their song.

But when the heroes went their separate ways, Xanah was still alive inside of the warrior's stomach, chanting despite the acids searing her flesh and pouring her power and soul into a gem that was dissolving with her. Though the digestive juices churned both her flesh and her phylactery away, the saur's soul had been seeping into a different a vessel: the caustic brew that she was engulfed in.

Three days after her defeat, the warrior who had eaten her collapsed on the road home, clutching his stomach in agony as he was gradually digested from the inside and the transformed lich emerged. A mass of otherworldy acids and concentrated necromantic energy carrying a few of her remaining bones held together by will and soul. Despite the spell having been successful in a sense, she was understandably lessened by the interruption, guided only by instinct upon her rebirth. She craved to find the living, to take them into her new body and to end them completely, body and soul. The gem that was meant to hold an entire soul while intact was unable to do the same when broken down by acids. As travelers and homesteaders vanished, lucidity slowly began to return to the lich over the nect few months. Xanah knew her name, knew that she had cheated death in more ways than one... And that she was ever so hungry.

Storm Drains: Since Xanah is less solid than most folks, she’s able to use city storm drains and even sewer lines to move about without being hassled.

Never/Dislike Never. "Necroplasm" is a sort of death given form and shape. Xanah dissolves and destroys living things within her, whether it happens fast or slow. Anyone who goes into her will not emerge intact and the vast majority never emerge at all.

Never/Dislike I've kinda grown tired of Micro/macro play. You can blame the people who forced their character to shrink mid-scene without warning and then expected me to just roll with it.

Never/Dislike Sometimes, but again, stand out. Most modern-setting humans with nothing at all interesting about them can expect to be denied. Not all, but most.
...That being said, if you have a picture of a real-life human on your profile, you will be flat-out denied on principle.

Never/Dislike Verbose posts greatly enjoyed. A comfortable length for me is about 4-5 lines in a word processor at 12 point Times New Roman with standard margins.

Never/Dislike Balance is required. I still expect a 'quick' post to be at least 1.5 lines in a word processor at 12 point Times New Roman with standard margins.

Never/Dislike If I'm playing in public it'll be for one of two reasons. Either I'm being silly and posting short tidbits, or else I'm trying to show off.
