Anna is an angel who's been sent to the world to care for the unfortunate. This of course has some loopholes to it. She can use her body to 'house' the homeless, or 'heal' the wounded through unbirth, but when the other angels found out they kind of altered the points of the mission, and now she will feed herself willingly to anyone.
