Short Story
--- I'm willing to give you freedom. Pure and total freedom. Freedom from the drudgery of everyday life. Freedom as abstract ideal. Freedom from pain. Freedom from responsibility. Freedom from guilt. From regret. Freedom from sadness. Freedom from loss. The freedom to be happy... The freedom to love." - High Roller - The wind is sharp and icey, biting its fangs into your exposed neck. You pull your scarf up and hold it there, hoping to shield atleast some of yourself from the needle pricks of chill. Another day walking along through the snow to head back home, another day with only the company of books, another day to spend alone. That is, until his arm is around your shoulders pulling you into the safety, warmth, and love of his awaiting chest. He always seemed to show up at just the right time. The world was so harsh, cold, unforgiving and uncaring, but whenever he was around, all of that faded away. There was only love, there was only her face on his chest and his arms on her back. It made Willow want to close herself away with him forever, to just get lost in him, to make him her whole world. Her breath was warm against his chest, which rose and fell in accordance with his own. His heartbeat echoed in her ears, each thump washing away so much worry and doubt. It was almost unbelievable, that she could have someone like him to hide away in. The wind stabbed deep into her neck again, tearing her back into the cold, grey world. Willow didn't need to open her eyes to know what happened. She only let a wispy sigh of cold steam slip from her lips before pulling that scarf up once more, turning back in the direction she was headed, and stepping away from the spot with a soft crunch of her hooves in the snow. The noise resounded in her ears, not because of what it was, but because of what it wasn't, what wasn't there. There was only one set of tracks through the snow. ---
Description and Art
- Willow Ae, a curious meld of Raux, Fallow, and Reindeer! She stands at 5'9" and 124 lbs, with a petite and thin build, 19 years of age. Her defining trait is her schizophrenia; there is never a time where everything she is seeing and experiencing is real. From hearing things that aren't there, falling in love with people that don't exist to anyone else, or falling into another world entirely, her case is extreme. Despite this, she manages to smile and enjoy life now. With those she's comfortable around, Willow is the sweetest ball of sunshine you'd ever know. <3 -
