Lore Story (Optional)
A long time ago, one of the elder gods required a place to put undesirables. Undesirables that couldn't simply be killed or locked away by conventional means. To deal with this problem, the god searched and looked for a place that would hold even the strongest. Eventually, he found one, in the soul of a man. This man had a void in his soul, a endless, vast empty space. It was in this void that the god thrust the first of those that he deemed too dangerous to be let free. A greater demon lord, whose name had long since gone forgotten to the ages.
The man in turn, became the first of the Cages. A role that would be inherited by his children, and that child's children. The first born of each generation would shoulder the burden of being a living prison. Some going mad by the demons' precedence, who's numbers only increased with every decade. Other's took to the task with zeal, actively involving themselves in the plans of heaven, hell, and the Pantheon. Taking the path of a saint or a destroyer, succumbing to the lure of the demons or forsaking them for a far more righteous path.
With time, other gods and devils of various races began to notice of this Cage. And would deposit their own criminals into it. The number of demons growing more and more with time.

Background
The latest in the line of Cages is Warlock. Born orphan and named by the demons he carried, he was drawn to the lure of the abyss within the first hour of becoming aware of the dark taint he was supposed to contain. Baptised in fire as he accidentally burned the orphanage he lived at to the ground, with all the other children and keepers trapped inside. He was ten years old as this event unfolded, his first step down a path more twisted and turning than a mountain road.
At first, he just wandered aimlessly. Tortured by the demon's voices in his head, and he would have been driven mad, if it had not been for one of them. The most insane of his captives, Garglara The Changer. This mad demon, silenced the others and took to the child, giving him peace. Only to have it replaced with the demon's offering. ″Feed me, and I'll give you power.″
The demon's hunger, was one of chaos and destruction, suffering and torment. At first, the child was unwilling to perform the things Garglara asked of him. But as the first week of living on the street, seeking food in dumpsters and trash cans, sleeping among trash and freezing. He came around and agreed to the cackling monster's demands. At first it was a small thing, break a window with a brick. But with time it would become far worse deeds. But Garglara was true to his word, and in turn taught the very first basics of hell magic to the child. Setting him onto a darker path than man is supposed to thread. He also named the child, warning him to never speak his real name to anyone. For as knowing someone's name gives one power over them, so the mad creature named the child Warlock. In time, other demons would make their offers know to the child. And he would consider them, and in time a deal was made. He see to their needs, and they grant him their powers for a time. Some would only need something for a short time, getting their fix, then slipping back into the far reaches of his soul and going silent.
But as Warlock became more and more aware of the world, and the hidden layers around it. He would become more and more noticed by creatures of power, gods or devils, demons, angels and alike would take note of him. Some trying to involve him in their plans, but being marked by the heavens and the abyss, he could not be manipulated as regular mortals. But had to take onto a task aware of it's consequences and who wished it performed. So he could easily refuse them, knowing instinctively when events were being influenced by hidden powers.
At first, he refused to agree to the plans of gods or devils. And simply turned his back to them. But this change, as the angel turned succubus Sakhera, made herself know to him. Being one of those sealed permanently inside of him, it was a surprise for the other captives that she would offer her services to Warlock. But she offered herself, in more ways than one to the young man. And convinced him to sell himself to whomever gave the best bid. Advising him that simply refusing to be part of it would only earn him enemies, a error many of his predecessors had done. But none would question him, or even look down on him for demanding payment for a service.
Settling for working as a freelancer for the cosmic powers, taking his talents to whomever paid him the most at the very moment. Be it god or devil, demon, angel, or spirit. He didn't care or considered, simply accepted his payment and did the job he was told to. But some of the tasks he came to perform was far more unseemly than others, helping manipulate the world to cause enormous disasters. Or performing miracles of untold proportions.
Quickly though, he realized that when he finally met his end, he would end up descending into the abyss. Instead of changing his ways, he aimed to end up becoming a demon himself when finally being cast into hell, to become part of the infrastructure. And so far, his chances are looking good. Having come into a friendly relation to a ruler of one of the many hells, a devil which he only refers to as Mr. Z. And he would often end up giving this devil free jobs to earn favour for himself.
With the passing of time, he would age and learn more, emotion and compassion dulling more and more. But he was still human, deep down inside of him he was human. And so, from time to time, he would fall to his emotions and limitations. In his line of work, it would cause trouble now and then. But so far he have managed to deal with it and stay alive, a whole 19 years of his life.

Personality
As a person, Warlock suffers from mood swings. Sometimes falling into long, brooding depressions, these sessions being a need to be on his own and think. Luckily, they usually come when he have had longer times inactivity and lack of focus. When working, he devotes himself to it fully. Giving his focus to please his client and earn his pay, which he expects one fifth of in advance whenever he takes on a job. As he have been tricked more than once, he likes to at least have gotten something out of it. But in general, he tries to be high-spirited and positive in most situations. Often taking loss around him with a callous and casual reaction.
When confronted the will either flee or fight, depending on if he believe he can come out victorious or not. But he's not above tormenting the weak and foolish, often having taken to teach street punks and trash a lesson or two just because they were a bit to high on themselves.
Dealing with supernatural things have become a every-day thing for him, having visited both Hell and Heaven on regular occasions. Having witnessed the suffering disposed on the sinful and the reward of the faithful. The fallen legions of abyss and the angelic host readying for the final battle between good and evil. So of course he have become hard to impress.
