Vynni is, for the most part, a girl like many others, though she has a few key differences. She was abandoned in the woods as an infant and probably would have died, had it not been for her adoptive parents finding her. They kindly and lovingly brought the young kit into their home and raised her as their own, despite many anti-yokai movements going on in their area. She dealt with much adversity throughout her childhood and early adolescence, but she loved her adoptive parents and the few friends she managed to make.

Because of her human upbringing, she is not your typical fox demon. She knew little about demons aside from what the humans knew (which was mostly just a bunch of fear-mongerring and exaggerated tall-tales). This, of course, brought her to fear demons and dislike that she was not human as her parents were. She only first met any beings of her species when she was fourteen, and by then, they seemed so foreign to her; she didn't feel like a fox demon.

Feared and hated by many humans and seen as a weak failure by her fellow yokai, Vynni despaired for several months, having her natural place and identity broken up before her at the realisation that she would never be human, despite how much she wanted to. Slowly, she began accepting that fact and still struggles to accept herself for what she truly is.
