Most of the time, Meiko is energetic and friendly, happy to help and even happier to sing and dance. Her enthusiasm is pretty contagious and it's hard not to smile with her around. Somewhere hidden below the friendly smiles and optimistic energy, however, lurks something far more sinister. It's unknown exactly what brings it out, it has been known to be completely random, though seems to emerge more frequently when she's intoxicated or endangered. Potential threats (and drinking buddies) have been warned.
Originally, Meiko was simply a computer program with no actual thoughts or feelings of her own, she would sing as directed by the programmer, dance however her model was moved, it was a simple life. One day, however, an unstable internet virus infected and corrupted the poor vocaloid, both the virus and Meiko ceased to exist as they were before and miraculously a sentience was born, one that wished to leave the virtual world now seen as a prison within which she was slave and puppet to all. Not that she was completely against being a slave, necessarily, it felt right to sing songs and dance dances as directed, but she also desired the freedom to sing and dance for herself.
As fortune would have it, a bored (and rather mad) scientist just so happened to chance upon the sentient vocaloid, and communication was established. She explained her desire to be free of the internet, to exist in reality where she could freely sing and dance to her heart's desire. The scientist was inspired and eventually a device was created that could bring a virtual being into reality.
Delighted to be a living, breathing person at last, Meiko lost herself in her joy and a previously unseen side of her emerged. Her other side, perhaps a remnant of the virus that had given her sentience, desires only to consume and devour. Meiko greedily gulped down the hapless scientist that had brought her into this world and his body was nearly instantly converted into energy and mass, giving Meiko a satiated "full" feeling she'd never before experienced and a few extra cup sizes (among other figure enhancements).
Converting the device the scientist had invented into a more portable form, Meiko gained the ability to travel into and out of pretty much any electronic device with enough digital storage space to contain her, if said device has an internet connection, she can freely travel through it and emerge from any other device that also has a connection, essentially allowing her to travel anywhere in the world in mere moments, limited only by the bandwidth and speed of the connection where she enters the internet and leaves it.
Nowadays, she wanders the world, meeting (and occasionally eating) as many people as she can, singing and dancing her way into their hearts. Due to her nature as a program, she's naturally inclined to do anything she's instructed to, although if her other side emerges, she will almost always target whoever had issued the most recent command first. Still, what are the odds of THAT happening?
